Hi mate been subd for ages but never comment but when u mentioned maybe getting into hunting I thought I would comment. U mentioned the connection to our food? so, I would strongly encourage u to get into hunting asap as there is nothing like feeding urself an ur family with something u have hunted/cleaned and cooked urself as u no exactly where it came from an it’s organic an healthy 👌 Here in Oz we have heaps of feral animals that we can hunt and eat so we are doing the native flora and fauna a favour at the same time👍 Keep up the good work and stay safe budd 🤙

First video of yours I've come back to watch in a few months. My wife, children and I used to watch them regularly and always enjoyed them. She passed away at the age of 40 two months ago after a two year battle with cancer and watching this alone without my children or my wife has been pretty... emotional I guess the word would be. We've enjoyed your efforts and work and I'm hoping I can continue watching. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us, my wife loved seeing the places you went as she was never well enough to do so herself. Thank you.

Absolutely love your content and the respectful way you engage with the land, Scotty! Did you know that you can eat the green leaves of pig face too (raw or boiled), along with the ripe fruit! The leaves are great for insect bites and burns as well as being used as a balm for pain. Shine on and thank you for sharing your wonderful adventures with us!

Hi Scotty, I wanted to add a detail about the lomandra - if you pull out a clump of leaves, all the way down to the roots, you end up with sizeable starchy chunks to snack on. Can be extremely worthwhile in a time of need. Thank you for the video! Tim

Thoroughly enjoyable, your films remind me of my mis-spent youth in the '50's to the '70's, although I was never game enough to go it alone on full survival. Your care with the water boiling is mandatory and I'm glad you emphasised it so much. But you did not go after a ready source of protein, clams (pippies) off the surf beach! I could live on pippies and warrigal greens for a week. The quality of the filming was pretty good on the EOS, nearly as good as on my Nikons! (sorry). These days I am 76 and dealing with a disabled with a failing heart and I find your films a good reminiscence of a previous life, thanks, Scotty.

Great end to the year. While it doesn’t need to be a survivalist theme showing us how to live off the land even if there’s a pack of 2 minute noodles in the backpack would be great. Sadly we haven’t had anyone fill the void after the bush tucker man retired

@32:45 A beautiful sight. The creation of fire is primordial, instinctive and liberating. Ray Mears best describes it as a game changer in the process of wild survival. It gives you the ability to see at night, fend off animals, keep warm, sear weapons, boil unclean water, cook food and raise your spirits. Lighting your first wild fire is the moment when you disconnect your reliance on the man made world and truly declare, I am here and of this place. Thanks again for a great vid Scott. Keep up the great work, From Ireland.

Thanks Scotty it has been a challenging year but your content has been awesome ,that problem you are having with that reel if it's a cheap one bin it if it's not go to your local bearing supply company and they should have replacement bearings and it should be an easy fix and won't cost a lot of money ,also don't drop them in the sand and when you get home from a fishing trip wipe your gear over with a soft cloth with tepid water and a very mild soap like dish washing detergent and rinse it in tepid water and leave every thing to dry before putting them away never hit your gear with a hose because all that does is push the sand and salt into your reels

Yep I think the survival thing is a cool content type for you to add to your repertoire for whenever you feel so inclined. What I find captivating about your videos is firstly your innate talent for putting a film together, but also the genuine awe and respect you have for the natural world, and the knowledge you have as a consequence. I'd love to see a video that carries with it a bit more history. Australia has a whole lot of stories to tell, and you're already out there in the bush anyway, and possess some pretty great storytelling skills. I'm not saying to make content in the style of X, I feel that there's a natural progression to your content and that I'd be interested in seeing you go deeper within your own style. Something with an exposition and rich with your insight
