They totally glossed over the fact that it wasn't disturbed so much by the cult activity, but rather that the cultists were trying to commit to him too early. Like they were trying to make him get married rather than doing ritualistic blood orgies. He even says he can break out himself once he's older and ready, more powerful.

I remember that in of the stories the Cthulhu tells the cultists he is too young to settle down with a cult. And he can break out anytime he wants. Just imagine what it looks like when he does all of this consciously and focuses his power after maturing. He already mind controls tons of people just by existing.

Huh. This one really got a big rewrite at some point, huh? Last time I saw it, it was just a few paragraphs about a kid Cthulhu stepping out of a shower to some cultists who broke into his cell and started doing culty stuff while he was asking them to please stop and saying that he felt he wasn't old enough to have his own cult yet. Also something about how it was his dad that was sending the cults his way to jump start his cult leading and that kid Cthulhu believed he had the power to leave The Foundation at any time he felt he was ready to run his cult, if I remember correctly.

Here again to suggest watching "The Young Man" By SCP-Tales from the foundation! A very unsettling backstory for SCP-106 "The Old Man." Which you've seen before. If you want a good scare, some of their earlier videos will certainly fill that role!

Technically this would be what Cthulhu would be if it cared to perceive humans: annoyed the whole thing of Lovecraftian creatures are that they are so far removed and above humanity that people start making cults and summoning them from nowhere and they don't even notice the damage they are doing, like the aliens from Roadside Picnic, let alone purposefully or want to do it.

Yeah 2662 is definitely one that blows your expectations out of the water and not in the way you think! A lot of people who don’t know much about them believe that the foundation had the LITERAL Cthulhu from the H.P Lovecraft stories but in reality, Cthulhu is basically just a dude that has a passive memetic anomaly (and physical (obviously)) that drives people mad just like the stories! He’s honestly a pretty chill dude who loves his video games.

As a fan of the Cthulhu mythos, I’m really intrigued as to the source of his anomalous abilities... Perhaps SCP-2662 on fell on his head as a child like Goku, or maybe 2662 isn’t even aware that his friendly persona is just a decoy personality? That would definitely add a layer of anxious uncertainty to this already great SCP

It’s less that he’s friendly and more that he just doesn’t care, like any Cthulhu Mythos god lol. He’s supposed to actually be a lovecraftian god but apparently he was born not to long ago and is actually a teenage god, and he doesn’t really care about the humans trying to form cults around him and just wants to chill and have fun, there would be no point in destroying everything or being evil, to him it’s fun to play video games and such.

Scp-5000 is probably the scariest. I HIGHLY recommend you read it yourself afterward because I watched his video, and even though good, does hold out alot of valuable info on the entire story. Really fun and super good. Like, the suit is something called an anti-mametic which essentially means people forget your existence and rationalize anything caused by you as something rational to them. I mean you could stab a guy and they'd make up a story how they've always been super depressed. Just please read it yourself afterwards because it deserves the love it gets. Also scp-056 is really funny call anyone you don't like them please and thank you

I will always love the fact that SCP Cthulhu is just a guy. It is one of the biggest miss leads I've seen in all of SCP. The thing about the SCP foundation is that while it does have a lot of horrific monsters that try to break out all the time, whitch are easily digestible and are easily the best way to start getting into SCP, there are so many more types of SCP's, there are SCP's that are held at the foundation purely because they are anomalous like the cat that is missing half it's body but functions like any normal cat (I forgot their name sadly), and there are even those that live in the site's willingly like Cthulhu (these are some of the ones I find most interesting) and that is what is so fun about SCP.

SCP stands for Secure. Contain Protect. securing anomalous items containing anomalies and protecting them if need be. its the foundation's job to research about said anomalies and learn how to contain them while maintaining normalcy in the world.

I really recomend SCO-2845 The Deer by the Volgun. The readings are incredibly atmospheric and he gives great inflection and emotion behind the voices
