The Global Occult Coalition, better known as the GOC, are a group of bloodthirsty, gun-toting cowboys who want to shoot first and ask questions later. It doesn't matter whether the anomaly involved is as harmless as a mouse, or capable of a world ending disaster, their reaction is the same: Destroy. Burn it, crush it, shoot it in the face with extreme prejudice and be home in time for dinner... Or at least, that’s what the SCP Foundation would have you believe. Fun fact: The scp foundation and the GOC are actually known for "trading" anomalies. The SCP foundation as many would know is possibly the most powerful anomaly related group in the world even compared to the GOC so Whenever the GOC can't handle a certain amomoly they willingly give it to the SCP Foundation. Whenever the SCP foundation needs an anomaly taken care of when they don't have the man power the request the help of the GOC. Pretty funny honestly

The GOC and the SCP Foundation are really Yin to one another's Yang. Neither philosophy seems to be 100% right at all times and even in the case of 682 the Foundation even acknowledges this, but if the two organizations were to merge and try and be more critical then we would likely have a much more perfect organization.

Eh, I'd like the opposite to happen with the SCP Agents and Operatives against GOC Forces that occasionally show up to terminate the Target (the SCP) that you are trying to contain in the first place. As not every anomaly in the SCP universe can be destroyed, or best be destroyed as shown as the chair.

Sentient and humanoid SCPs learning about the GOC would try their best to get rid of them and any other similar organisation, despite some of them are more about keeping everybody as safe as possible. If I'd be an anomaly, I'd tried my best to stay either at a SCP foundation side than meeting members of the GOC

Well actually the thing with the UN Security Council is that it's not that they aren't helping in the efforts in perving wars but are more like brayed under politics and revile ideologies that are present in the United Nations from Liberal Democratic counties to the Authoritarian nation states. Not to mention for some reason, people expect the UN Security Council to do stuff they were never meant for and made to do like for example, counter-terror operations in Mali and having the power to retaliate against nations who are breaking international law as international law is not a law but more like a guide line for Countries to follow as once again, the United Nations was never given the power to enforce international law.

SCP treats actual humans like cannon fodder. You can argue about the ethics of eliminating innocent scp’s all day, but it won’t change the fact that the SCP will never have the moral high ground.

neither the SCP nor the GOC have the moral highground. The GOC have been known to target and attempt to eliminate (or in some cases, succeed in eliminating) sentient nearly-human anomalies several times. Meanwhile, the SCP foundation is willing to throw prison inmates (and sometimes random people and even children) into the jaws of monsters just to see what would happen ("FOR SCIENCE!") They're both morally reprehensible.

@@cassou124 But like, they were already going to die from the death sentence, it's good that they could serve as tests for the containment of something that could kill everyone if not studied for means of containment. And the GOC killing SCPS will only cause too many deaths. If necessary, the SCP foundation may or may not kill SCPs with certainty that they will not become something after that. Only if necessary.

@@ciceroissad4821 Some of the SCP's tests are inhumane and can be done on "safe" NPCs just to see what happens. I didn't say SCP foundation never has the moral high ground, just that it doesn't always have it. More often than not, it's just the lesser of 2 evils. Also some of the people used for tests and containment protocols are random citizens and children, according to some of the tales. I doubt there are any children on death row

The problem with both the Foundation and the GOC isn't the specifics of their preferred method of dealing with the anomalous, but the fact that they're both committed to sticking to their one policy regardless of how stupid an idea this proves to be. A rational organization could just alternate between destroying, containing, and accepting anomalous things based on what makes sense in an individual situation, but both the GOC and the Foundation are dogmatically committed to a single approach which they continue to observe no matter how little sense it makes. They're like two people taking a true or false test, one of whom blindly marks all questions as true, the other of whom blindly marks all as false. They're both idiots, not because of the general properties of the answer "true" or the answer "false," but because they have no capacity to adapt to situations in which their preferred option is undesirable. This is why the Serpent's Hand ends up being the best organization in the mythos. They have a preferred policy toward anomalies, which is liberating them, but they don't hesitate to deviate from that policy when the situation calls for it. Where the foundation is not capable of just killing a monster that they have to feed children to, and the GOC is not capable of just accepting the existence of an extremely helpful anomaly, the Hand is able to judge anomalies individually, because it views them as just another valid part of the world rather than as a category that must be approached in a single way.

They obviously have no other choice for anomalies that can't be destroyed, but they also keep dangerous ones around for reasons which are not necissarily the most helpful... Second, I was actually referring to D-class and the Foundations cruel disregard for basic human rights. They'll have D-class do things the researchers know will get them killed just to confirm what they already knew.

I believe the SCP Foundation, GOC, Serpent's Hand, and Chaos Insurgency have a point. They should join forces. The Foundation should contain indestructible and safe anomalies, the GOC should destroy destructible dangerous anomalies, the Serpent's Hand should let the public know of anomalies that won't cause mass panic (safe anomalies and anomalies that people must know about in case they escape), and the Chaos Insurgency should use anomalies for the benefit of humanity. This allows for all 4 to benefit from each other.

I would highly recommend you read the GOC's operating manuals, that are located on their hub: scp-wiki.wikidot.com/goc-hub-page In them, they literally say that most anomalies, be they human or not, are assigned Threat Level 0 or 1 - aka they don't fall under the proper definition "parathreat" and are thus LEFT ALONE, simply observed. EDIT: Not to mention the fact that the GOC actually employs about 10000% more anomalous personnel than the Foundation.

First thing. The fact that they more than likely knew it was safe and still decided to throw it into the wood chipper was an idiot move. Even if the incinerator was working, that chair was safe and now it has trauma, turning it into a dangerous anomaly. Second thing, that ship had a right to kill everyone on the GOC ship considering they attacked first. Of course the ships reaction was gonna be violent. The GOC literally killed it's lover. The ship could've rammed into a cruise ship and killed everyone. Why didn't it? Because the cruise ship didn't attack it first. It attacked a threat in a response of grief and anger which was valid. I'm not saying that GOC or SCPF is better (considering SCPF bullied a man to death) but I'm saying that one is more reckless than the other.

I love how when eliminating beyond clearly Safe class SCP, The GOC counter arguments by saying that clearly these SCP's have the potential to kill. Hmm... I dunno about you guys, but I'm not a very hostile man. That being said, if you shank me or someone I care about, don't act all surprised when I start trying to shank you. Self defense is in the nature of all living things, if you hurt something, it's gonna give it's best damn attempt to hurt you back- And with anomalous entities, that is EXETREMLY likely, and many of them will permanently change in behavior.

Pretty reasonable to destroy objects if they have a high potential threat, Even if they lack the will to actually use that power. For example, If an average human gained the ability to control and launch every single nuke that exist in the world. Is it reasonable to want to neutralize that human

Exactly, someone should ask the GOC should we go around and start killing animals that attack once provoked seeing as how "they have clear dangerous potential only when agitated"? The GOC doesn't think before they act and it shows. Heres a harmless chair that just wants people to sit down, best thing to do is of course try to destroy it because naturally this is only a front and it's going to one day kill people somehow. I don't exactly like the foundation but at least they have the ability to reason with what's a good idea or not.

I don't think the Foundation has any right to stamd there when they have done so much shady things that has caused things to get worse for the world or has killed for their research. Things like tge End of Death canon or the Three Moons Initiative are some fucked shit for their own sake. Not saying one is better than the other but both sides have no right to say they have a moral high ground

I originally wanted to put a disclaimer that neither sides are in the right since they have caused life and anomaly causalities due most decisions they made...but i didn’t caused I got lazy hehehe and despite I like the foundation a little more I have to admit they have done some shady things in order to contain certain SCPs and protect humanity

Personally I think GOC makes more sense then the Foundation. Considering the huge majority of anomalies being horrific monster that butcher humans with little to no reason other then violations to there nonsensical rules. The "kill them all with fire "approach seems like a far more rational mindset to me, then the "go out of our way spending lives and resources to protect a horrific monsters" approach that is the SCP foundations. The death of Innocent anomalies is tragic, buts its not like SCP 682, 1048, 049 are making sure they don't kill Innocents humans now are they.

@@matthewbeach2669 There is some argument to your message. But remember: the GOC do end up creating sometimes more problems than needed. Example being the Chair and Boat SCPs spoken of during the video. Transforming simple and non-violent entities into unintentional killing machines. I understand everyone’s desire to destroy the SCPs, given how we have 682, 079, 173, and 106. But I’d rather study the otherworldly anomalies then create more disasters than needed.
