Scrap Busting Hour Glass Quilt for Project Linus

Welcome to another informal, chatty video about my quilting week. In this video I share my latest Project Linus Quilt: a great little Scrap Buster if you are looking for ways to work with your oddments of fabric. I like to save my leftover 3" HSTs and here I have put them together in an hour glass design. So if you have a few minutes to spare and fancy a chat, grab a nice drink and join me. I meet monthly with a group of ladies to make Project Linus quilts. We've been given a TON of donated fabric, so it's always fun to see what we come up with. Some of the fabric make for some wild quilts 😂 We made 26 quilts our first year!

My design wall, which is a wide back flannel has held up with thumb tacks [top only] for years. Thank you Diane for all the entertainment and knowledge you give. I am an ex Brit living in Canada. Have a good weekend!

I really love your "designs" even when they're "improv" - the Christmas Wreath looks fabulous and special. I don't think we're having a summer this year, so more quilts the merrier! Is it just me or do others imagine listening to the Noveltones' "Left Bank Two" when you do the stop motion/speeded thru sections? 16:48

Wow...I am very impressed by your musical knowledge/ear!!! I'm afraid I selected it from capcut...I just liked the sound of it...I'd love to have a really interesting conversation with you about music but I am sadly lacking in skills in that area!!!! I have eclectic tastes and surround myself with music but?! that's all I know...

Lovely squishy and snug quilt. I wouldn't worry about the odd young child fabric thrown in now and again just for a bit of fun. Never too old for cute fabrics! LOL! My daughter's wedding quilt had little pirates, little vikings, little girls, little boys, football stuff as well as florals, batiks and animals. It reflected her and her husband's lives. Oh and then there was the luminous constellation and astrological signs for a surprise when they turned the lights off!

Thanks Diane for accepting my request to design a snowflake quilt. I’m so looking forward to seeing your video. I’ve been playing around with my graph paper and pencils to design a snowflake quilt. I know snowflakes have six points but in my world of quilting the best designs always end up having eight points😄. ❤

The project Linus quilt is so cheerful and bright. It is bound to be treasured by some teenager for a long time in the future. You are always a delight. If I lived in England, I would definitely be at the quilt festival and come to say hello. But I'm in America, so that would be quite a trip😂. Hope you are able to film while you're there to share with us. Stay well.

This was fun. I've been creating hourglass blocks from triangle cutoffs and keeping them in a box without an idea of what to do with them. Thanks for the inspiration 🎉❤😊
