The only thing I look for in a knife is - can I use it? I could care less about scratches or gouges on the handle or cosmetic stuff. Been looking thru thrift stores for a nice used Japanese knife. As long as there are no chips or gouges on the blade, I don’t care. I’m not a collector to show off & display a specific maker. One day I hope to find something decent in a thrift store to use.
