Principal Himbry (Henry Winkler) meets his untimely demise at the hands of the Ghostface Killer.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Scream is at once a slasher film and a tongue-in-cheek position paper on the "dead teenagers" movies of the late 1970s/early 1980s that plays as half-parody, half-tribute. Sydney Prescott (Neve Campbell) is having a rough time lately: she's still getting over the brutal rape and murder of her mother a year ago, and now one of her friends (Drew Barrymore) has been killed by a lunatic who harassed her with terrifying phone calls, then stabbed her to death while wearing a Halloween costume. Soon Sydney is receiving similar phone calls, quizzing her on the arcane details of such films as Friday the 13th and Prom Night, and is attacked by the same cloaked maniac. With her father missing, she has hardly anyone on her side except her best friend Tatum (Rose McGowan) and Tatum's brother Dewey (David Arquette), a half-bright cop. As for the murderer, it could be any number of people: Syd's father; her cute but overly intense boyfriend Billy (Skeet Ullrich); Tatum's goofball boyfriend Stuart (Matthew Lillard); or Randy (Jamie Kennedy), who works at the local video store and seems to like horror movies just a little too much. Much like Halloween, Scream spawned a series of sequels and inspired a large number of similar films -- its original working title, Scary Movie, became the title of the 2000 parody film by Damon Wayans.

Makes sense. The body count was definitely low in Scream 1, which I liked, it was simple and kinda set up the concept that the sequel is always "more blood, more gore" and Scream 2 has like a double digit body count.

Everyone's talking about the Freddy Easter egg. But nobody seems to notice that the mask he's holding is a completely different mask than the one ghost face is actually wearing.

Sharp Shot EFX #1 It was directed by the guy who made Nightmare on Elm Street, which is why people are talking about it. #2 That’s probably in the movie it’s sold at multiple stores. #3 Also in the movie, there are kids making fun of the incident and scared people with Ghostface masks and chasing people in the halls. The one Ghostface is erring is different because a lot of them are made by different manufacturers because it was popular before the murders. #4 Watch the movie.

Two different masks throughout. The first one Drew sees through the window is the same flat-faced one, while Casper's mask that Rose meets in the garage is the later, more stylized mask they also used in the sequels. It's something that's both asymetrical but still well-balanced in the movie as a whole. Doesn't hurt for the subconscious curiosity either.

The novelization someone is working on says he wanted a spare mask and costume to wear because the he had got confiscated by the police and the rest of the masks in shops within the radius of the town all got taken off the shelves by orders of the police sheriff.

Fun fact: the mask the principle put on was the original ghost face mask. Also if you look at the murder of Casey and Steve, it's the same one. That mask was used why before they had the final design, and was scrapped because the company that made it didn't like it at all.

+Stephen Webber Yup Elaborating more, the crew found the mask (the one used now) in a house, but was unable to use it because they didn't know who made it. They asked KNB to remake it, but change it about 20% to avoid copy right issues. Instead of using the new one (Which has never been used), they used a 2nd mock up and never told the crew otherwise. Eventually they reached the company (Fun World) and got access to the Ghost Face mask.

sgillman16 no, the mask used in Casey’s death as well as this kill was made by KNB effects. It was used to film those scenes before the studio got permission to use the Funworld weeping ghost masks, which is what they used for most scenes in the movie. The funworld Fantastic Faces were found in a store when the crew was looking in stores.

i used to think it was so stupid how they made the killer superhuman fast where he disappears within seconds of knocking on the door. Until i noticed years later that the knock wasn't even coming from the door, it was coming from the closet in the office he was in the entire time lol

The closet was open in the beginning. That's why there was that tense scene with the principal opening the closet, because it was open when he left the office, then it was closed when he came back. Everything that happens throws you off because you think it's just one killer when in reality there's two of them.

It was and Roman helped him here. Roman knocked on the door while Billy killed him. Afterwards they hung him from the goal post on the football field. Roman then went to follow Sidney and Tatum while Billy met up with Stu and went to the video store together to see Randy.

I know how this worked. first thing:it wasn't both of the killers. it was only one of them. when the killer knocked both times,the obvious reason nobody was at the door was because ghostface ran away and hid before the principal could catch him. I'm certain it was the room in the wall in front of the principal's officr on the right side of the hallway. when the principal was out,ghostface snuck inside his room and hid behind the door,waiting. being as quiet as possible to avoid getting caught,he waited until the principal shut the door,which is when the murder took place.
