The Ghostface Killer ambushes Sidney (Neve Campbell) and her body guards, taking them all on a thrill ride.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
A year after the monstrous success of 1996's neo-slasher flick Scream, director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson reunited for this follow-up. Since viewers last saw the characters, nosy newswoman Gale Weathers has written a sleazy best-selling book based on the events of the first film, a book that has been adapted into a Hollywood film called Stab, starring Tori Spelling as Sydney Prescott. The real Sydney (Neve Campbell) has since gone away to college in Cincinnati in hopes of leaving the horrific events of her past behind her. Unfortunately, at a showing of Stab, two college students are murdered in a fashion that is reminiscent of the slayings that took place back in Woodsboro. Suddenly, Sydney, her pal Randy (Jamie Kennedy), and dopy deputy Dewey (David Arquette) find themselves once again pursued by a ruthless masked killer. Among the other potential killers and victims are Sarah Michelle Gellar, Laurie Metcalf, and Liev Schreiber.

Without a doubt the most brutal and violent scene in any of the scream movies considering that it shows Ghostface taking out not one but two cops. Add to the fact that he finishes the second cop off by driving him through a construction site makes this scene even more suspenseful and tense even by scream standards.

To be fair, I think it's budget is significantly larger than the first. I still can't get over the beginning with GF just hiding in the stall, waiting for the intended victim. That said, this movie is flawless, starting with Randy's death that I pretty much forget the opening.

So in Scream 4, they have only 2 cops on duty again. You would think after this incident and Ghostface's reputation for sneaking up on people, they would have had a lot more than 2 cops protecting Sidney in the sequels.

It’s a horror comedy, what they termed “scary movie” before the spoofs came out . As others have pointed out, the cultural references, the over reactions, the clumsy killers etc it’s all deliberately written to hit this mix of horror while pointing fun at the genre

I just got how brilliant this scene was. Earlier in the movie, Sidney says she thinks one of them might be gay. And then when she asks where they're going, he goes "Don't ask, don't tell." 😂😂😂 I just started cracking up for a good five minutes.

What I loved about Scream 2 is that it they didn’t waste any time it set the tone right away with the first 2 kills. I saw Scream 1 & 2 in theaters and they both were epic. I remember my cousins and I going with our auntie to see Scream 2 and how geeked we were when the killer stabbed Omar Epps in the bathroom through the stall and the way the background music came on everybody in the movie theater reaction was priceless. What I also loved about the whole thing is that Scream came out in 96 and I Know What You Did Last Summer came out in 97 and u had a lot of ppl who was saying I Know What You Did Last Summer was better and then boom Scream 2 came out a few months after. I felt like at that point the two movies were competing and then in 98 I Still Know came out and then a couple years after that Scream 3 and then so on and so forth lol those were some fun years for slasher movies

I watched a video where the theory was he was going to drive Sid to the auditorium for the "final showdown" he and Mrs. Loomis had set up. He just didn't count on the police officer hanging onto the car which caused him to crash and knock himself out, giving Sid the chance to get away again. It was only kismey and movie magic that led her to the auditorium after that.

Well the original plan was that Ghostface was going to take Sydney and her friend to Disneyland after he stole the car and kicked the cops asses. More than likely Mickey was under the influence of Xanax and alcohol while he was driving, so that's basically why he crashed.

Considering that Ghostface ran him over with the car and drove him through a construction site i think it's safe to say that the second cop at that point was badly injured considering that he just got ran over and crashed into a nearby construction site which resulted in him getting a metal pipe through his head.

How can't nobody comment on the fact that Mickey(which is the one wearing the Ghostface costume in this scene), was able to sneak on a police car that just stopped, with two trained detectives and kill them easily, when also able to slide quickly through the top of the car to land a kick in the face of the second cop. it's like, we know he is a psycho, but god, how he acts likes he's got a military training or something? even in Scream 4, when Ghostface kills that two cops, it's more beliveable for them being killed by a teenager, since those were two comic relief cops who didn't took their jobs very seriously!

Military training is way more than that. Plus Mickey is at college student age and is more agile and built compared to Charlie who’s just a teen, Stu is an exception due to him being a tall teen

I don’t mean to downplay Mickey, but these cops weren’t exactly the brightest either😂. Seriously they did a terrible job at keeping Sidney “safe”. Even Cotton was able to sneak up on her and end up kind of cornering her at the library. Had that been someone actually dangerous, who knows what would’ve happened? Mickey took the first guy by surprise, and unfortunately no matter how strong, skilled, fast, or smart you are, if you let your guard down, it’s most likely over. As for the second guy, he had his gun pointed directly at Mickey and could’ve taken him out right then and there, but didn’t. Plus, nothing Mickey did here is even close to the level of someone with Military training.

But the first mistake Richards made was getting, exposing his head to the top of the car, even though he watched Mickey jump on top of it, allowing Mickey to kick him in the face. On top of that, he got out without even drawing his gun. Overall, Andrews and Richards just really sucked at their jobs. So I just think Mickey’s feat of taking them out doesn’t hold as much weight as people think it does.

I need Scream to have more environmental kills like this. Though Ghostface does get pretty "cutting" with his buck knife...It would be nice to see more than just stabbings. Every Scream until the last two films had at least one environmental kill; Tatum got her head crushed with the garage door, Stu got a TV to the skull, Officer Richards here with a head impaling, and Tom getting roasted in the house explosion in Scream 3.

Wow. This was an excellent and tense scene knowing that Ghostface could have awoken at any time and gotten them. I don't recall their names, but that officer stood strong and he didn't fire as he could have hit Sidney or Hallie by accident. It was fun to watch in the theaters.

I've always assumed that was the plan. After they got there, Mrs. Loomis and Mickey would've finished off Hallie and revealed themselves to Sidney.
