It is my experience that the polimer harvesting challenge only works from blue barrels, the honey challenge requires a stone axe, and the rotten flesh challenge needs a bone knife. Oh, and steel challenge only works from vending machines.

And you have to harvest the exact things (water barrels and blinds) it's states in the harvesting scrap polymers challenge with a stone axe.

Josh, those random car pieces that lie around broken down cars (fenders, quarter panels, etc) yield polymers when you axe them.

Yeah, i grab every polymer I possibly can. Way more than I need for dew collectors. It's the only thing which sells expensive to the trader.

You missed a dew collector at 27:00 left side of screen. the dew collectors out in the world seem to have a higher chance to drop the mods for them I got the tarp and water filter from them so far.

so apparently holding jump while trying to get on a ladder makes you fall from the ladder. also it seems you can't grab a ladder while falling anymore. hope that helps save some legs.

Josh, can you make a horde base with storage blocks defending your position? I ask because I went from wood to iron great…. Made a mistake and wanted to move said iron storage chest … 👀 2500hp for a damn chest that cost some wood and 10 iron?? WTF and it has ANOTHER 2500 after because it wasn’t fully broken. 10 iron 5k hp?? Note to self don’t upgrade to iron storage unless it’s gonna stay in place. 5000 hp to break down a mistake iron chest with a lv2 stone axe suckssssss 😂😂😂 💜

When I’m really mad at Rekt for being a jerk, I leave his gate open when I leave. 😆 Petty, I know. But the idea that he might have to move his ass to go close his own gate, or risk zombies wandering in… it just makes me happy.

I actually left the gate open at Rekt's today, came back and there were three zombie's inside the gate, and then when I went into the actual shop there were another five or six in there. I'm actually wondering if that's a thing where if you leave a gate open zombie's might spawn within the compound. I've never seen that before. Granted, I usually close gates so maybe it's always been a thing, but I feel like I've seen Josh leave gates open in a lot of his play throughs and haven't seen it. I've always felt it could be an interesting addition to the game if the trader's weren't invincible, and surprise hoards can show up that you have to defend them against. Fail to defend them, maybe they close for a day. Fail multiple times to defend them, they actually die.

Hey JaWoodle - GNS figured out the trick with jumping onto ladders that are missing the bottom rungs -> Holding down jump causes you to fall without catching the ladder. Simply tapping jump causes you to climb. 😊 Wanted to let you know!!

In addition to grabbing polymers, i always chop the curtains and related items for cloth. You need a boat load of cloth still for duct tape. Also, i said in the last comments, pick up and put the plants in the forge...do not scrap them! Cheers.

Cloth is "somewhat" less valuable in ver.1 though. In A21, it was 10 each for duct tape, but also 100 each for clothing pocket mods, and 200 each for double clothing pocket mods. How much you needed would really add up. But with 4 armor slots and no clothing slots, the demand for cloth is a bit more chill. Still need quite a bit, but not as bad as in A21.

The Opening Trade Routes doesn't give you the next closest trader anymore. It gives you the traders in order - Rekt, Jen, then I don't remember the order of the others. That also means sending you to the biome they're assigned to. But there might very well be a closer new biome with a new trader out of that order or even just another city/town with the "same" trader you're currently on.

in my game, im around level 30 so far, and i have not seen a chicken, rabbit or dear so far. i think they broken. snakes coyotes and boar are around, but much less than alpha.21, can only seem to rely on animals that spawn as part of a POI atm.

Air drops are random to get you to explore the map. Great idea though about flare gun to call it in. Flares could be sold at trader.

SO glad you took parkour it saved mee to many times of not getting mushed legs. I am up to the wrench but need parts for the bench still the wrench will make it far faster to get them. What happens if you fail a quest due to some wired glitch?

Actually trader job tiers carry over again. So if you get to tier 3 jobs with Rekt when you go see Jen she will have tier 3 jobs for you as well! I think it used to be that way in Alpha 17 if i remember correctly but they changed it, so now they changed it back!

Had a zombie drop a blue loot bag, and there was a cigar in it. So you could potentially get it off a zombie drop too.

hidden stash in the wall at the construction site. The utter contempt for Trader Rexts existence. I think animal spawning is broken in the game since the update. I've been going for 5 days only seen 2 x chickens and 1 x rabbit.

You may want to save magazines and wait until you have a nerd outfit to read them, for the chance of getting an extra level from the magazine. Not all of them, but the stuff you don't need right away.

I've seen several people loot testosterone out of normal loot, on like day 4 or 5, that was during the first couple days of release. TFP probably patched it out though

For some reason. In this version of the game, even at night at day 10 I have seen very little zombies. First deer I saw was one that ran in to spike trap at my horde base. Animal spawns seem rarer now days. Also maybe they put trader Rekt at first biome, so players would like to go to new harder biomes (edit: I play the game on the normal difficulty)

I feel bad for Rekt's Voice Actor. If they ever end up meeting a 7 Days player IRL, I think the player might be likely to either punch him in the mouth or tune him out completely whenever he speaks.

I've noticed that bear spawns are also severely diminished. Usually I see bears spawn at night early on, but haven't seen a single bear.

I saw a couple of chickens, a rabbit and deer on the first day, I'm on day 5 and have killed 2 snakes & seen nothing else.

If you have enough time to maybe finish a mission without turning it in, might as well take and do it. Crawling back to your base at night isn't that bad. At least you can take plenty of time. Not like Josh is wasting mining or crafting time. Me on the other hand? I'd be mining through the night.

7.50 that med bed gives plastic. water bottles, cardboard boxes, wheelchairs, luggage, janitor and utility carts also give polymer. put a point into animal tracker to find rabbits and chickens easier.

I fell with 2 levels of parkour, about 4 blocks down a hill, just 4 blocks height. I BROKE MY LEG somehow....I was like Random wtf is this?, where I was dropping like 6-8 blocks straight down from several POI's and NO ISSUES, not even a sprain. Something is up with the falling and injury's

Did I miss it in the release notes? Do perk choices NOT affect skillbook frequency anymore? and in my several 1.0 starts I have seen 1 chicken and 2 rabbits as far as animals go and NO deer.

I've played V1.0 for about 10 minutes and found a cooking pot, grill and an anvil in the first houses. So, they are not gone.

It's odd that you can't find any animals... I have found a lot of chickens in my playthrough (but no deer to be fair) Also, you have found multiple hunting knives, where I am using my crafted tier 4 bone knife; but I have found several wrenches in the first few days I guess it's all RNG??

If easy zone locked on traders, desert is Bob, they change Bob voice... A lot meat in desert in day time, just watch out animal at night time.

You must just be having poor luck with the deer. I started up a game and I think the world is exactly like yours, I even built my hideout in the mausoleum. I have seen several deer and bucks in the town and surrounding woods. What I am not seeing a lot of are rabbits and chickens.
