Hey mark I just wanted to say fully and foremost I'm sorry. I had a relapse of when I first started watching your videos and it was 5 years ago however I didn't subscribe until now. Originally it started as a way to quell loneliness as I get a lot of alone time from my family, I always felt stuck away from everyone. However your videos felt like you were really talking to me and they kept me company. I started to draw as a kid and your videos really inspired me to keep at it. Thanks to your support and assistance I have started writing my own comics and know I wouldn't get anywhere without the influence you had on me at that age.The pride you taught me to have in what I do as well as as a person is amazing and please don't ever stop it. Someday I hope to inspire someone like you did me and I hope you can continue to inspire more people as the years draw nearer!

This is so nifty, I like it when you show where to put the light and dark parts on the drawing, because if the shadows are all messed up but the lines are perfect, it doesn't look right. I always have a problem with that. The scribbled thing looks like fun.

Hey Mark, I love all your tutorials and mastering manga books. I was wondering if you could make a video on designing a character based on the world you are putting them in. Like for example what a character would wear, clothing, etc in a nuclear apocalypse world or something. Just how you come to create characters like that. I think that would be very interesting to see.

Dear Mark, You probably won't reply or view this comment anyway but I have hope. I came across your channel 3 years ago and I couldn't have loved you more. You were the the biggest inspiration for me to take art more seriously. I would wait every week to watch one of your videos even if they were an hour long. I'm not surprised that you have reached 2,000,000 subscribers. When people see your art they call it talent but I call it hard work and dedication. I would have commented this a year ago but I didn't have a youtube channel back then so now is my opportunity to say thank you. Stay strong and never stop what you are doing. I absolutely LOVED this one, Mark! The final result puts me in mind of the Old Masters paintings which you see in museums, which have that lovely crazing from age. I agree also about the relaxed feeling felt with the repetitive movement, which must be similar to what I feel using pencil crayons, which also take many layers of application. Thank-you for this eye-opening video on an optional way to apply medium to a surface to get something pleasing to the eye.😃👍💗

I've always been a fan of impressionism. I'm a huge fan of lines, and will scribble lines together to make a thicker line when drawing, and I'll only erase lines if they go too far away from where I want it to be. Probably not the best way to draw in a comic style, but it's what I know best, and so it's the best for me. XD

+Joanne Habegger yes I wouldn't expect any less. a guy at work didn't believe I drew my pictures so he challenged me to draw Lewis Hamilton in his merc. after 8 attempts,I gave it one last go.that go was 30+ hours.although it got a lot of wows, I hated it due to the amount of mistakes I knew about but nobody else could see. I was just too bored to bother correcting them for someone who disbelieve me and was getting a free drawing. but yes it would take days!
