This whole season is actually amazing. I love it just as much as the early seasons. Buuuut unfortunately everybody was more concerned with dick riding Zack Braff to truly appreciate how awesome this season was. Maybe they should've advertised this season as a "scrubs spin-off" rather than "season 9" but either way that shouldn't have taken away the absolute comedic GENIUS of the "med school season " like it did.

They reduced Dr. Cox to hating. Even with his anger and contempt, he did have a genuine desire to teach doctors to become better at what they do.

Sutton was really a worthwhile character. Had a lot of Cox in him. Wow, read that last sentence again. But yeah, there was something... "Coxian" about him...

Criminally underrated season. For real. If people back in the day weren't sooo busy with dick riding Zack Braff, they woulda seen it too. Such a shame.

I honestly loved the ninth season after the first few episodes. They shouldn't have called it Scrubs. It built up too much expectation for more of the same and when it didn't deliver that exact same it caused a backlash. I wish it had gotten another season. Dr Cox and Drew's dynamic are completely different than what he had with JD.

They wanted to call it something else, since it was supposed to be a spin-off, but the network forced them to keep the name because they thought it would bring more viewers

Rawsilver Absolutely agree. When you treat it as a spin-off and not as season 9, it's actually fine.

I'm rewatching it at the moment. It absolutely should've been a spinoff, but it's definitely better than I remember. There was solid potential for sure.

I feel the EXACT SAME WAY! thank you!!!! I hate what we all missed out on because some network execs were too greedy and straight up STUPID enough to not advertise this as a "scrubs spin-off" rather than calling it "season 9" because they wanted to piggyback off the name to score a cheap quick extra couple bucks.

It would have done better as a spin-off. It was *okay*, but it was dragged down by trying to be Scrubs. It wasn’t, and it shouldn’t have tried.

Season 9 had some funny scenes, but was still shit compared to the other seasons. Still think they should have stopped at the season 8 finale.

season 8 was meant to be the final and the producers planned on making a spin off named "med school",with some of the cast of scrubs being the main in med school and others (like JD) being returning characters (appearing in some episodes). Unfortunatelly, the publisher (fox, if i remember correctly) said that if they want to do it, they had to do it as season 9 of scrubs. (kind of like a pilot episode, but a whole pilot season) that is why season 9 has the secondary title med school, and why it was different. the point of season 9 was to go away from JD & Turk, and to focus on the new staff, on the new people in scrubs(pun intended)...
