The Axial SCX6 is a beast, we all know it! Recently, I fitted a Holmes Hobbies BLS HV2000 servo and also finally got around to painting my warranty-replaced green body that had cracked quite badly from new.
And so of course I had to get it dirty! Join us for a fun morning on some especially steep and slippery trails!

I have the same steering servo and have been quite pleased with it. With aluminum hubs and bearing carriers, I only worry about breaking rod ends now. You guys got a good workout beating up those rocks with your lovely SCX6's;-) If you had fun, then it was all worth it.

@RCTNT I've been on the fence about that servo. I know HH puts out some good products...Did you guys try any of the other servos before landing on the BLS?

@metomwhou absolutely yes. I have 8 or 9 HH servos. Love them. Easy recommendation! Oh, I get what you mean. Yes, have some cheapies too, me and two others with Scx6 rigs. The cheap ones are still better than stock, but they will fade long before the Holmes unit does. If crawling rather than just trail driving, HH for the win. If just want general purpose, maybe one of those cheaper 75kg ones would be fine. Simon here has a mid range savox that seems good too, but I personally would buy the Holmes unit every time. If you can afford it, you won't regret it.

@@metomwhou I did not try any other servos other than watching many videos of people replacing their SCX6 servos. While the Beast 2000 servos are very good, the HH servo puts out more torque at a lower voltage input. I use a 10amp external BEC to power the servo. I run a 3s 5200mah battery and I get at least an hour of crawling time.

You know a trail is steep when it's just as hard to walk it as it is to drive it. There have been a couple times I've stepped out of my Toyota to check an obstacle only to nearly go sliding down the hillside myself. You really get a sense of scale for the SCX6 when you went in to save it from rolling. Massive beast those are

That trail, if you can all it a trail, was quite a challenge. You can only tell the steepness of the hill from certain camera angles. The crawlers took quite a beating. That looks like fun.

Your yellow one looks ACE! love it! Also, great fun on the hills. Video really doesn´t make justice of how huge and imposing these are. Let alone the steepness of the slope... That save at 5.20!!

That was some hardcore Xterrain , with some irregular problems. It looked fun as heck though! Those rigs are amazing and I gotta say; well done capturing it all ! Thanks for sharing!👊🏼😎😝

This terrain is perfect for crawling! I live in the bush myself, and am slowly working on building my own outdoor crawling space. Got a good area marked out. Time for fun. Nice video.

Great video …..awesome test for the scx6 …. I’m picking up a slightly used scx6 for almost have the cost of new …can’t hardly pass it up 😊 I’m curious where the yellow body came from? I’ve never seen that color offered?

Thanks, and I'm excited for you - you're gonna love this thing! For my rig, I had one of the original green bodies that cracked very easily; it even happened on camera several times during my review. It was a manufacturing defect, so they sent a bunch of people a new, clear body, under warranty. We had to transfer the plastic trim across to the new body. I took the opportunity to paint it something different. I'm using Humbrol primer on the black section (it's on the outside of the body and dries flexibly and very tough) and Tamiya Camel Yellow PS-19 on the inside for the rest of it.

i have an issue with mine which lost my interest when i bought it :( servo doesnt turn to the right at all ! turning circle is bad to the right. straight out of the box ! cant find a fix. tried calibrating and everything.
