It's my absolute my fav shantie i remenber finding it looking for a pirate music mix and then came accross shanties 4/5 years ago ever since I'm a huge fan of shanties and he sings it beautifully.

As a sailor at least formally, I can confirm that it is difficult to leave your women and go to sea. Then it is difficult to leave your ship when it gets back to port for the last time. One finds oneself without a ship or a woman.

From what I've learned, this song was forbidden on various ships unless it was after the ship's final voyage and you were sending her off and there would be consequences if you sung it otherwise

This is one of my top three favorite shanties. I like the lyrics you added, i think I'll try adding those to my rendition. I usually sing the versions the Longest Johns sing. If you ever go on tour in Florida I'd love to hear you in person.

I began to look up each singer from the "AC: Black Flag" Shanties, because one voice moved me above all others. How fortunate I was to find it was only the second name on the list; Sean Dagher. This is the 2nd best shanty! And by the way a ‘Let’s Play’ is just where you make a video of yourself playing the game. I’m sure your audience would love to see you playing black flag (I know I would) and you’d be able to play the game for the first time and hear the shanties that people heard playing the game. Maybe after ‘shanty of the week’, who knows?

So... This shanty is very special to me. I first heard your black flag version, and that was the first shanty I ever committed to memory. My family has very strong musical ties, with singers on both sides. I was very fortunate to inherit a good voice, so I sing a lot and know quite a few songs. Several years after Black Flag, probably half of my repertoire are shanties now! Thank you for this.

This was one of the 2 pirated songs I heard on an Irish tour bus on their generic Irish music playlist. Roll Boys Roll and Leave Her Johnny ripped straight from Black Flag. Found the music, found the game, found the community. Best tour bus trip ever

This was my absolute favorite shanty from AC 4 Black Flag and my favorite shanty ever, though I prefer the specific lyric arrangement used in that game more. But that shanty, and that unique voice, is what caused me to seek you out! And that is why you are now my favorite shanty singer, I cared not that it was a song in a video game, I liked that particular arrangement and singer, as I wasn't too fond of other people singing it, I wanted the Sean Dagher version! You're voice was made for this song, and I'm so glad the game and your voice could bring me to it's attention and many other shanties! Keep it up sean!

You can listen to "On the railroad" by the longest johns, you might like it. Also, "we all lift together", it's from the videogame Warframe
