Nice performance coming from a 4080 i rarely see 100 fps or even 80 fps in games nowadays.

The fps is great but the lows are still pretty bad in 4k 26fps in native 4k. I don't think this game is meant to be played at 190fps in 4k, thats going to be bumpy af once you approach an island or trigger mobs.

The game cap is 300 fps so i think its ok to play up to that. The issue seems to be because its unreal engine 4. You see this exact same stutter issue in a lot of unreal engine 4 games

@@BenchmarkBoy That is what I was referring to. The 4080 is delivering very fast fram pacing as it should be being a premium card. However sea of thieves aside from draw calls to the cpu is also running network and physics of the gameplay which are integral to landing a blow in a swordfight or making cannon shots land where you want them to sink enemies (lower and below waterline for cannonballs and deck or mast for fire and chainshot) you're swinging 50% or more between 1% lows and avg fps with .1% in the 20s fps with frame time doubling or more in some settings. Although not being to noticeable in animation it will effect accuracy of your shot. Most likely it isn't so much the gpu as it is the cpu and engine trying to sync up all this data. You can see once you scaled your resolution the frame pacing picked up significantly. In this title I turn down graphics to keep frame pacing as even as possible and significantly improved my success rate which was why i suggest that sot is more playable at lower settings or in the case of the 4080 a more reasonable fps cap. There are some pretty informative videos on 1% and .1% lows that. Great card though if I decide to sell my car this or a ti would be my choice.
