The Sea Shepherds are being cornered by 4 Japanese ships. The only way to protect themselves is by launching projectiles at the whalers however, that may risk losing them the protection of the Dutch government.

They fired at smoke trailes at the horizon back then, the enemy so small you could barely see them with the naked eye. So yeah, good luck getting that close to your enemy and then just crossing casually their bow - they wouldve just dumped 6 250mm shells into your ship and watched you detonate

How did they not “see that other ship coming?” That’s a 50 meter long full metal ship that will give off a pretty good echo on your little radar screen. No way they didn’t see that. If they really did not see that than they are an embarrassment to shipping. That or they had their radar display set to like a 30 kilometers, which is still terrible when they are thát close to another ship. I mean, perhaps they had it zoomed in all the way but they still should have checked. This is how accidents happen.

That's the moral conflict we viewers are in. They want to protect "protected" sea area were certain type of fish and whales can "rest" and breed in natural habitats. Most of these Whalers are doing illegal fishing, they are disturbing the natural circle of life with commercial fishing. In my opinion "we" need to protect those certain fishing free spots, BUT I can never really support such an pirate organisation like Sea Shepard. Fighting illegality with illegeality while risking material and human beings is kinda twisted logic and or unmoral.

Everyone is quick to complain about the rapid and ongoing collapse of the marine ecosystem due to poaching and illegal hunting, so you chastise an organization that took it upon itself to highlight japan’s illegal hunting program? Had it not been for their actions, I and many others would have had no idea what Japan was doing down in the Antarctic. Like with most activist groups, Sea Shepard suffers from arrogance and a clear system of incompetence across all their vessels which I as a qualified 2nd mate agree is concerning for an organisation with seagoing ships, but I support them for their willingness to stand up to the Japanese whaling fleet when nobody else could be bothered to.

@@XERXESDOE Yes, they are in the "southern ocean", and they do kill whales while the crew is watching. What of it? The Japanese do not kill the whales in the restricted zone, the Sea Shepherds follow the Japanese to the area where it is legal to take whales.
