It's definitely more comfortable than the BA Zoom UL! I still stand by this pad being the most comfortable "backpacking" pad I've tried. Possibly the most comfortable on the market. The double chamber and the air sprung cells really make this the winner for side sleepers (without creating pressure points). I want the XT (reg/wide) version. I just wish it wasn't so heavy. I'd like to compare this to the newer Big Agnes Rapide with the update.

@@VeggieHeather Hi and thanks for your prompt response. I am looking at the XT which as you know is 1/2" thicker than the standard Comfort Plus. I have a BA Rapide now and am looking for something 'more.' I am a side sleeper and will tolerate more weight for comfort at this point in my life. But yes, 3lbs for the XT is heavy. With the Rapide I combine it with a Switchback. The XT is also quite spendy!

Hard to say. The etherlite XT is thicker than this, so by default that should be better for side sleeping. I personally felt it was not as comfortable but its still an excellent pad. Try it out at home for a night or two and experiment with the firmness you like.

@@VeggieHeather Yeah I already bought the Etherlight and spent a night on it and was happy with it, but just learned about the Comfort Plus and assumed it was an even better pad. I am mainly car camping so weight isn’t really an issue and I’m willing to pay whatever for the best sleep possible!

@@chrissiemens if weight/space isn't an issue then I'd go with the Sea to Summit self Inflating comfort deluxe. I have a review video on it coming out soon. I've had that pad for years and its incredible. 4 inch thick foam and air pad. Its luxurious.

No, just the regular insulated. The XT version is rectangular and has a slightly higher R- value.

@@VeggieHeatherHave you ever tried the S2S Ether Light XT or the S2S Comfort Deluxe? Here in 2024 how has this Comfort Plus worked out for you? I’m a pretty heavy side sleeper.

@bradl2636 I own the comfort Deluxe and it is a DREAM! more comfortable than my mattress at home. But thats definitely only for car camping. I laid down on the Ether Light XT in a store and didn't find it to be as comfortable as others. It was creating a hot spot for me on my back. But I do hear good things so don't let me sway you!

@bradl2636 the comfort plus has been very nice for me! But I do now wish I had bought the rectangular version (XT) since a mummy shape isn't as good for me now as it once was. I love the 2 air chambers, and I'll always say, StS has the most comfortable pads on the market. Their air sprung cells do it the best, very comfy for side or front sleepers.

@@VeggieHeather I found mine was too crisp packet sounding when moving about. Fellow camp mate would hate it 😅 so I’ve just bought BIG AGNES RAPIDE SL INSULATED SLEEPING MAT, and it’s amazing. Silent, big, larger on the edges with cradles you to stay on the mat. Worth a look my friend :)
