In 1998, two teams of scientists measured the universe's rate of expansion, expecting to find the gravity of the Cosmic Web bringing the universe into a collapse. But instead, they found that the universe's expansion appears to be accelerating- having expanded more in the latter half of its life.
Both teams agreed upon the existence of a new type of energy field, known as Dark Energy, to drive this acceleration, and in doing so, they revived one of Einstein's long-rebuked ideas- the Cosmological Constant.

25:33 The red warmer areas of the CMB were warmer and therefore LESS dense and LESS massive. The cooler areas were denser because cooler gasses and plasmas are denser. The cool, denser areas then collapsed gravitationally while the warmer areas expanded and became the voids. Stars form in the same way, from cold, collapsing gas clouds; not hot expanding ones.

A little too much parroting without any questioning for my liking. Puts out a a fair amount of questionable info. And keeps referring to unknowns as fact. As did Einstein...the smart one was his wife. E=mc² was her. She put out her science through him as women weren't readily accepted in the field. He never corrected history before he left us. So i will :) einstein was a git

I did indeed I was looking to branch out from gaming and was mulling creepy mystery videos, space videos and history videos. History videos too dull, kinda boring, creepy mysteries were a sure fire way to get demonetised, but space content ticks both these boxes and there’s some great tools available to make graphics. That being said I have always been interested in space since I was a little kid. I was obsessed with big stars like Canis Majoris at like 12 and astronomy was the only module I really enjoyed in science class. So I had a basic understanding, all I had to do was research topics. And I like researching and writing so it’s worked out quite nicely 😅

Hello SEA As a physicist, it was my usual pleasure to review your latest production here. With very good factual content and lovely production values, I have no hesitation in recommending this video to my own students and to any curious layperson. It is definitely up there in technical quality with, say, Arvins Ashe's or the PBS SpaceTime series. The perfectionist troll in me will pick out the occasional technical mis-statement or misleading remark - very likely slipping in no doubt at scripting time - but taking away almost nothing from the value of the presentation. Please DO keep up the good work - I enjoy most seeing the other comments here of curious folks enjoying science more because these videos!! best regards D. Barillari

It is the last light emitted after the recombination era. It is a nigh perfect blackbody, basically as cold as anything can get - it was predicted that such a radiation would exist and cool down over time. It is also universal and not linked to any current source of radiation. By looking at the CMB it's possible to trace current existing structures, thus implying it's an earlier "photo"

SEA vids help me sleep by reminding me of how vast the universe really is and how much we dont know about it, which makes our worries here on Earth really tiny in comparison. Love this channel
