Jessica's story is great. This version is a bit odd. She tells it far batter. This narrator leaves out a lot of the details that make it personal/emotional.

this is more of a mission debrief, she told a story. odds are this side of the "story" is more accurate as well. she would have been panicking when all of this was happening. its just a normal day for the SEALs. And thats not to bring up the fact they are literally trained to remember every detail so that they can give a debriefing after the operation. and also were you there? probably not so how can you say this one is odd ad the one that came from the person hiding her face the whole time is more accurate? it was total darkness, she couldn't see anything. And this is the SEALs side so obviously there wont be a bunch of emotions in it. they do their jobs, not tell stories to make you cry

The ransom offer of 1.5 mil was from friends and family and charity. The US govt does not negotiate or pay ransoms. They will spend more on rescue than the ransom actually is

you're not too familiar with how the US handles our citizens being taken hostage then. We've got a long track record of going to insane odds just to save people. This is in part why the US is one of if not the only nation to levy a tax on our citizens abroad. I do find it comical how a Canadian thinks they know what they're talking about here. Don't be jealous that our military would carpet bomb hell itself to get a citizen back where you guys would probably just call us to help.

Pirates probably didn't hear the seals. It was likely more what they didn't hear. The approach of the assault team was noticed by wild life in the area and the critters and insects went quiet which was noticeable by the militiamen who were attuned to the enviroment

I want to introduce a note of realism into this, so remember that the narrator said the Somalis were happy to stick it to the Americans and embarrass them [us] in front of the rest of the world when the cost of the mission was brought up, bc it was just as much about national prestige as it was to rescue a single American in deep trouble. It’s not cynicism driving that observation….its logic. It also happened the year Obama was running for re-election, and that can’t be entirely discounted, either.

Unlike the normal people, these men are trained for the situation I would like to say that they might be scared, but these men are not their ready to give their life for any American. These men are heroes whether they had or had not had to do missions like this. That’s why we’re so patriotic as Americans, so no I don’t think they were scared. I think they were doing their jobs and most of these men do not want to even be called heroes but to us Americans they are all heroes. God bless America and God bless the UK we are all human beings, and I wish we can all get along but unfortunately, this is the world that we live in. America, home and free and definitely land of the brave.

As former US Military and police, it is ABSOLUTELY STUPID AND IGNORANT to think you will make any difference.
