Opposite, i dont think sean would have won this without the alex loss. Before he was too eager to parry which is how alex feinted and then hooked around the attempt, whereas VS izzy sean kept all his defensive movements tight almost closer to how kevin holland does his philly shell, just a slight adjustment but kept him safe from question mark kicks all night

I got way more emotional than I thought I would when Sean won. From the way he talks about himself it feels like part of him must have felt like he didn't belong in there and didn't deserve something like a world championship. I honestly thought those inner demons would be the reason he lost, but he displayed championship skill and I'm the most impacted by witnessing what he proved to himself, not what he proved to all the fans that thought he couldn't do it. This one hit me pretty hard. I can definitely relate to those feelings.

It's not just that most of us thought he wouldn't win, it's that we thought if he did it would be a freak event or a surprise knock-out, etc. No one on Earth thought this would go 5 rounds and Strickland would win a unanimous decision by simply fighting a better technical fight. This is why you just can't ever miss a main event. You just never ever know.

@@adamredden2007 definitely better. Strickland effectively got two separate wins in the fight. In round 1 Sean would have had the stoppage if there was just 5 more seconds. He proved he could finish Izzy in an aggressive way. Then in the remainder of rounds Izzy had plenty of time to recover but Sean showed a persistent ability to shut Izzys offense down, have dominance at all times, and landing punches of his own throughout, that left Izzy's face swollen. If you deleted the rd 1 knockdown, I feel Sean would still have won the decision!

Worst part is, he absolutely brought out the blueprint to beat Israel. You make the counter puncher come out and be aggressive. Israel is elite going backwards and countering but his pressing striking is not there. You can see where many guys previously fighting him made the mistake. Sean kept going forward and forward. Love it The people's champ, so humble Izzy was so confidence that he didn't used any demonic stuff for this fight 😀 Hahaha even referee was happy to announce the winner 😂❤ Sean very well caught Izzy's chin in first round. Sean Strickland reminds us it's ok to be a little fucked up. A little.. imperfect.. because none of us are so why in the hell does everyone pretend to be? Win or lose I will always support a fighter who just tries his best. And it's nice to see a man not over value material things. He just trains and fights to be happy. And if by chance he wins that's great. But losing is also acceptable to him. Because he knows losing is also a possibility. And as long as he tried his best he has no shame. It's not always important to win. But to just try your best. People say he's nutty. I say he's one of the most relatable human beings I've seen in a long time.
