Sean made a comment some time ago where he said he would abuse his potential son if they were gay and since Sean flipped out because Dricus responded to Seans attacks a canadian reporter properly thought it was a good time to point out some hypocrisy. Obviously Sean deflected from the question and proceeded to declare the reporter the enemy of Canada because they don't hate gay people. I work for a small paper as a college journalism student and there was a big discussion on the difference between journalists interviewing athletes and athletes interviewing athletes. There’s just a different level of comfortability and openness that some journalists dream of that you see in some of these interviews. DC’s interviews are such a great watch and the respect and openness is so clear and refreshing.

I never really thought about it, but Sean makes a powerful point. If he were to vehemently deny being graped by his father, then he'd be distancing himself from actual victims in a way that would make them appear to be detestable. By saying, "No, I'm not one of them!" he would be further alienating the victims. He'd bring even more ire and stress to them. So although he did NOT be graped by his dad, he didn't correct O'Malley because that would promote some idea that he's somehow better or worth more than those who were. And Sean views himself as equal to everyone, regardless of tragic circumstance. Sure he often says things like "We're all just trash" or whatever, but that means he also believes "We're all as good as one another", which is rather wholesome and the type of thing we teach our children. What a way to stand up in union with those who feel secluded.

But MMA is so much richer and interesting. So many fighters love to learn and master different techniques and push themselves to see how good they can get. I wont lie Strickland is a genius for making the philly shell viable in MMA. Deflecting, parrying shots followed by high level takedown defense. While we have seen the top practice of the philly shell used in Boxing as a defensive calculated dart in when necessary risk mindset, now its a mindshift that it can be used as an aggressive walk down style. Trauma is a serious matter and a lot of people resonate with that. So being able to relate to the crowd is important.
