SYNOPSIS

Episode 5,6, and 10 are probably my favorite episodes. The second half of this season was all awesome. Episode 5 is one of my favorite episodes in the entire season as we get the payoff of Miguel and Robby’s rivalry and the dark version of Daniel. Episode 10 is probably my favorite episode in the entire series, though in competition with Season 3’s finale. This finale gives me all the fan service and payoffs and action I’ve been wanting while also giving me a lot of great surprises. This season is easily my second favorite season behind Season 3.

I agree. Episode 4 is probably the worst episode in the show for me. The buildup they had for the waterpark episode in the trailer was huge, and they met well below the expectations by having a race down the slide? There are several other things that are wrong with it but this was my biggest gripe.

Yeah my favorite probably finale, I actually hated Mole'. I thought it taught a lesson that cheating is good to kids and that made me mad.

I would love to see Season 6 be some sort of Dragon Ball tenkaichi budokai (World Martial Arts Tournament) arc or in this case season. There could potentially be some whacky silly but fierce fighters we could get from across the globe. It could be hilarious and exciting!

Man, this show is slowly becoming one of my favorite spinoff shows ever. Who would've thought if you told me back in 1990 that chozen, mike barnes, jonnny lawernce would team up with daniel to take down terry silver in the future...

Both of Terry’s fight in the finale were highlights of the series. For a while people have said Terry and Chozen are the 2 best fighters of the series. So it was amazing to see them face off. And they really made it feel like these are 2 true warriors at heart who will risk it all in a fight to the death. And them bringing out the weapons brought it to another level. That was the best possible matchup the series could’ve had and it was awesome. Then the Daniel Vs Terry rematch was the emotional triumph that made the finale so satisfying. It was awesome how they edited it along side the “quicksilver method” from KK3. And seeing Daniel use the crane kick again was great. Totally satisfying final fight.

Great ranking for the Season 5 episodes. My favorites were between Episode 5, 7, and 10. Both Daniel vs Terry Silver fights and the Terry Silver vs Chozen fights were epic.

I think it’s hinted that the reason that Silver is able to get away with all of this stuff is because he’s filthy stinkin rich. He’s probably not really investigated because he pays off the legal entities or even has such a good reputation that no one suspects him. However we do get a glimpse at how far his money can take him during the Sekai Taikai qualifiers. The ref cannot deny obvious points much like the law can’t ignore what was shown in the last episode. The guy even says “he’s going to face a litany of charges”.

You should rank all 50 episodes now that there out! Would be a lot of work but you could just do a tier list or something around the lines of that and give a short summary/opinion on the each of them just an idea tho, love your videos!

Love your content, Sean! Definitely makes work a bit better! Loved this season. Episode 10 is my favorite of the entire series. When Johnny sees the sonogram picture of his baby giving him a new gear is my favorite scene.

I'm not sure how I'd rank these episodes, but I feel like the Mexico storyline didn't amount to much, outside of building up Miguel and Johnny's relationship a bit more.

Only thing I really hated was they didn’t really have Barnes fight besides the 3rd episode. They should have had him fight the cobra Kai masters with Johnny and chozen instead of getting knocked out.

@@angelaholmes8888well THAT and, apparently Sean had suffered a terrible injury after filming Karate Kid 3. I can't remember the exact details, but it was pretty bad and some of the crew was aware of this and they were being more careful with his choreography to avoid something else happening. Like he's still a pretty good martial artist, but there's alsi two moments where you can see his obvious younger stunt doubles if you pause at the right moment, which for me, that's always fun to spot.

I like that the two worst foes Daniel went up against were willing to apologize and take responsibility for their actions. I hope Johnny, Bobby, and Jimmy get that chance in S-6 so Daniel can finally bury the past. And I literally had tears when Mike broke down and confessed how he lost everything when he lost his store, and Daniel promised to do everything in his power to make things right. Say what you want about Daniel, but when the chips are down, he is level headed and willing to go all out to help.

One minor issue I had was, they never really established how good of a fighter Mike Barnes is at this point. He might’ve been the best teen fighter of the original trilogy. But now they make it sound like Karate wasn’t really a part of his life after KK3. So I was always wondering, ok is he just some regular guy who used to fight or is he a karate beast still. I got the vibe that he was just more of a brawler now and I didn’t really feel like he belonged in fights with Karate masters.

I enjoyed this season much more than I expected based on the (non spoiler) reviews beforehand. Loved the addition of Chozen more than I expected, also was glad to see more of Johnny's evolution outside of being a sensei. (Some of his best stuff since s1 I would say) Only issue was other than the dangling sekai teikei thread this could have wrapped up the series, imo. I do look forward to s6 to really expand the world into the unknown, but I am also feeling like it probably should be the last season as well. On a side note, as much as I enjoy kreese's character I thought it would be a much more intriguing setup to have him actually dead, along with Terry Silver gone to really set up something totally different for s6.

You know i loved this season a lot. But as a guy who's become passionate about writing stories over the past few years, i noticed that my main probelm with season 5 was a problem i usually run into with my own writing. Where i have so many characters that it becomes difficult to focus on everyone without stretching it out. And when it's rushed and/or restrained on time, that focus is even more limited, and certain characters had less than two lines this season. Still really enjoyed it, but there was a lot going on

Also want to throw some love for Thomas Ian Griffith out there as well. He has a great blend of being able to pull off charisma, likeability, sliminess, and physical intimidation based on his size. If this show came out much earlier I think we could have seen him in some good roles since kk3.

@@albinwallen634 Oh I know, he was a beast in his youth. He'd almost be too formidable to the point that I couldn't see anyone physically imposing enough to have beat him realistically. I always though them allowing him to get trounced by Miyagi was stupid. I don't care how good you are, you're going to be in trouble with someone that skilled and that much larger than you.

Last season, I thought “every Netflix show feels the same”. By that I mean that it will cut between two or three different people talking, and once I saw Eleven (sorry, Sam) have a Stranger Things scene, I was positive.

Great episodes and season, slow first half, incredible second half, but this season went way over the top and was scattered. You've got this satisfying, realistic story within season four, smashed between two seasons that are unrealistic to say the least. Still the best season imo, with Head of the Snake being my favorite episode to date.

You really thought season 3 was that unrealistic? Anyways for s5 I felt like the most unrealistic thing was Kreese's escape. What were ur other unrealistic moments? Imo show hasn't been that realistic since season 1, but it got more entertaining, which what a show should do. The unrealisticness produced some of the best scenes, but u still did call s5 the best season so I'm a bit confused by your take.

It was cool to see Robin Lively return,always had a crush on her,we just need Hilary Swank in season 6,then that's pretty much the only big character left to complete all the original cast of all 4 films.

This season felt like it could be split in half. The first 5 episodes are where things get really bad for Daniel and company only for things to go very well in the second half with the snake speaking scary lady (Sensei Kim). I thought it was funny how Peyton List(Tori) finally breaks the solid stone by trying to hit Sensei Kim in the face at the expense of her hand.

This season was pretty good I like how it was a little bit more mature and we get to see alot more of the adult storylines but they seem rushed into the plot but I would rank 8 out of 10

My favorite episodes were: 3 because of Mike Barnes 4 because the water park stuff was super fun 5 because the Miguel vs Robby fight and Daniel vs silver 8 because the mini tournament was epic 10 because that was the BEST FINALE of the whole damn show!!

They gave Chozen the “anime side character” treatment where they started to dive into his past, confessing love and talking about how he was gonna tell her after all this. I was like “oh, he DEAD dead”

Even though I loved this season, one of the things I'm getting tired of is all the distraction finishes in fights. Whether it's Chozen looking away from Silver, Robby in the finals getting Hawk down and looks at Kenny, Miguel and Robby in the school fight, ect. However not picking on my part. This season was still a blast.

Yeah, it was basically a worse version of a lightsaber battle. Kinda wish chozen and Terry actually had some sort of over the top fight without swords.

Do you need to watch the original movies to watch this show? Or does it stand on it’s own?

Honestly i would recommend watching the movies first but you don’t have to. You can pick up everything pretty easily throughout the show

Seems like a ton of people watch it on it's own, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's very much a follow up to the original trilogy. The whole thing is a series of references to the original films.

Don't know how I'd rank them definitely have the finale and the Taikai episode at the top. The season starts off alright but the second half is where it starts to get really exciting, when they bring in sensei Kim and Johnny joins up with Daniel and Chozen.

You should rank the main characters again. Cuz now Devon and chozen are more of main characters and we had that sensei girl who is a main character

The biggest reason why Barnes wasn't in the fight was because the writers wrote him off as being energetic because he was on drugs, not setting a good example if he had taken down the highly trained guys while on hard drugs

The show bordered on so bad it’s good for the first half of the season. Got better in the second half. The show is pretty bad on so many technical levels but I can’t stop watching it 😂

In another show on Netflix, a character mentions old dogs don’t change, the Kreese and Silver are that. Mike, Johnny, and Chozen were young stupid kids making terrible decisions, people need to chill out the whole the all villain are getting redeem. When it’s just the young people

I ALMOST gave up this season because episode 1 and 2 were sooo bad. But i'm glad i did'nt !! After that the show really got to the level of the past seasons and the finale was amazing

Episode 4 was by far the worst in my opinion. I do agree that all the Johnny stuff was great but the rest was horrendous imo. But I loved the rest of the episodes
