House of the Dragon season 2 is set to premiere soon, bringing with it the return of House Arryn, with Jeyne Arryn, a family member of Rhaenyra Targaryen.
Jeyne Arryn, known as the Maiden of the Vale, is the Lady of the Eyrie and the head of House Arryn, Defender of the Vale, and Wardness of the East during the reigns of kings Jaehaerys I, Viserys I, Aegon II, and later even Aegon III Targaryen, but most notably during the Dance of the Dragons.
In season 1 of the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, Prince Jacaerys Velaryon flew north on his dragon, Vermax, to foster allies for the cause of his mother, Rhaenyra Targaryen, herself the daughter of Aemma Arryn. Besides going to Winterfell where he will meet with Cregan Stark of House Stark, Jacaerys was also tasked with going to the Vale to speak with Jeyne Arryn, Rhaenyra’s first cousin, who, of course, supports Rhaenyra Targaryen over Aegon. Queen Rhaenyra is related to House Arryn through her mother, and according to Jeyne’s own words, “women should band together.” Jeyne Arryn supports the Blacks and her relative Rhaenyra.
In this video, we discuss the life and fate of Jeyne Arryn as well as House Arryn in House of the Dragon season 2, as well as in the later seasons of the Game of Thrones prequel show. Jeyne Arryn will fight for the Dragon Queen, Rhaenyra Targaryen, send her troops to her aid, and later become one of the regents for Rhaenyra’s son.
Jeyne Arryn will finally appear in House of the Dragon Season 2.
