Make sure you take-off and land the same way. Don't get caught up in your pride of how high you can stack the boxes, but rather what is going to transfer to athleticism on the field!

What's this doing compared to a straight standing box jump?

@@siveti15 Great question. It is more of a static start position. This eliminates the counter movement - which helps create more force and momentum. So the seated box jump is harder!

At what time of training do you recommend including this exercise? ¿How many series, repetitions and days a week should I do? Thanks for the content, it's very helpful

After your warm-up, early on in your workout regimen. I typically do 2 sets of 10 jumps (2 x 10). You could do it twice a week, but I typically supplement with many other plyometric drills in my protocol. In the coming months I will have performance workouts, including jump protocol for sale on my website www.simplespeedcoach.com.

I see a lot of people raising their feet before jumping and then pushing their feet into the ground, is that better or worse for increasing vert?

There is not a huge difference when practiced either way (static or with the foot raise) with the end goal of increasing your vertical. The static position is more of a power movement and the foot raise is more of a plyometric exercise - both are needed to increase vertical. However, when jumping from a standing position (most jumps) you do not raise the feet and must generate power from the static position. Thanks for the comment!
