SEBO Felix VS. Shark APEX DuoClean zero-M Vacuumwars of TheLift-Away- Upright Vacuum Cleaners
I have NO respect Europro/Shark enough to distinguish between there different trashy models.
Shark is not Part of the VDTA Unlike most vacuum brands .
All Sharks are designed to be trashed in 1-2 Years !
This video was intended for a staff training video.
But I believe it gets the point across to the general public as well.

I found a Sebo Felix at goodwill probably 6 years ago and paid 8$ for it. I was shocked because it was in such good condition. I got the new hepa cloth bags for it and a new outer filter and works great. My dad came over and looked at it and I told him it’s made in Germany. Needless to say he took it and still raves about how much he loves it.

Yeah, Shark is utter garbage, but you didn't mention that it comes with the caddy to make it a proper canister, It is also a 2 motor machine, you vacuumed twice as fast with the Shark as you did the Sebo, the Shark also comes with a hard floor attachment (which is the only thing I miss about my old Shark), and the filtration is shockingly good, which wasn't shown. I love my Sebo Airbelt D4, but let the facts talk for themselves. Exaggerating Shark's flaws or omitting its pros only cheapens the message.

High quality vacuums use ball bearing motors that don’t spin at excessively high rpms. Speeds greater than 36,000 rpms is not good for any brushed suctions motors unless it’s only for a few seconds at a time. A 25000 rpm 2 stage motor on a sebo G2 or even the 35000 rpm motor in the Felix would just quit once the brushes are worn out and can be brought back to life by sanding the commutator and installing new carbon brushes. Brushless motors can literally spin as fast as you want to as long as the bearings can handle it, a 45,000 rpm bldc suction motor with a traditional impeller can easily last 5000 hours as long as high quality steel ball bearings with high speed high temp lubricants are used, a 120,000 rpm tiny motor with a turbocharger style impeller will stop working a few hundred hours due to fried motor controllers caused by hince that 700 dollar Dyson is not worth it after all. There are traditional brushed suction motors on high quality corded vacuums that have seen multiple carbon brush pair replacements throughout it’s life, I’ve seen 20 year old Windsor vacuums that have been through the ringer and Windsor vacuums are just Sebos with longer power cords and a truncated manufacturer warranty due to being destined for daily use by janitors and professional cleaners.

If you really want a new vacuum cleaner, go to an authorized sebo dealer, trade it in, and let them hook you up with a new sebo vacuum with free bags, filters, and accessories. You might go for a canister instead of an upright to switch it up.

Technician here. I cannot tell you how many people Have brought there shark in thinking it was only a broken belt only for me to call them up telling them they have a bad motor or board. I also cannot tell you how many times I have seen sharks come in with the thin filter placed inside the top of the canister. Yet it fits but that ain’t where it goes. There’s that odd beg thing inside that model that the filter goes around. I once saw that inside the canister placed on top of the cone inside. Can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called. I don’t know why but shark basically erases all common sense from anyone that buys one.

Great videos, thank you! Quick question: I'm looking for a whole-house machine that will help us vacuum more frequently and more easily (less muscle-strain/easy within-reach storage). Right now we use an ancient Electrolux canister which works well, but it is so heavy and bulky that we don't vacuum nearly enough. Something like the Shark Apex stick looks so easy to use but sounds like low quality. We'd be willing to save for the Felix if it is THE way to go. Is there something out there that we're missing that is just as effective/healthy as the Felix but a little easier on the arm muscles?
@PerformanceReviews
@PerformanceReviews 4 жыл бұрын
Well Shark vacuums come in around 12-14 pounds and are rather bulky. The best thing to do if you're trying to go lightweight is the pull the vacuum motor out of the handle. This can reduce the felt like to about a 1-2 pounds. I would highly recommend you go to a local store and test drive a SEBO E3 that machine is truly lightweight and maneuverable. You might also look at the Miele C2 electro-plus.

@@PerformanceReviews Thanks a million for the reply! I will look into both of those. In the meantime (while we save $ and plan trip to vacuum store) would a stick vacuum like the Simplicity "Spiffy" Broom Vacuum be decent quality? We DON'T want to buy junk --even for something we'd use as a supplement, but I noticed you have some positive reviews of Simplicity.
@PerformanceReviews
@PerformanceReviews 4 жыл бұрын
Stick Vacuums are for quick pickups. Again it puts a lot of wweight in your hand the whole weight of the motor of the stick vacuum. I would definitely go with a different brand than simplicity which is an importer of Chinese goods at this point in time. I generally don't recommend products made with from Tacony Simplicity/Riccar.

Thanks! Since I've had canisters for years and never liked them (too much bulk), I think the Felix is probably the way to go... especially since the canister is detachable and very lightweight (great for our steep staircase). I wish I had more time to sift through all your content, but am I correct in thinking that we really couldn't do much better (whole house/maneuverability+lightweight/filtration+health/durability) than a Felix in this price range?

At my wife and I's vacuum store, we used to service Sharks, but learning how worthless they are, we tell our customers to throw it out and buy a Miele, a Sebo, a Riccar, or even a Dyson. In spite of how much you hate Dyson, the "Ball Animal 3s" are made better than the DC41 for example, and they clean much better as well.

I like cannister vacuums but the downside to them is the extra filters. Those cost a lot of money on top of the vacuum price itself. You have to replace the HEPPA filter plus the pre motor filter from time to time which that totals around $100 or more yearly on top of the vacuum price plus the cost of the bags too.

The felix will not vacuum high pile carpet! Brush roll will just shut off making it unusable. If you have medium to low pile it does great but not a good vac for someone cleaning different homes all the time.

Also can we talk about every shark handle. That is a beyond shitty design. When ever there is a clog, 9 times out of 10 it is something James in the bend of the handle. Nothing I have found, bendy claws or other tools can get in there to unclog it. You shouldn’t have to disassemble the handle to unclog a machine. It’s even difficult to disassemble even the handle. Let alone the head.

Sebo may cost a bit but believe me it’s worth every penny. Sebo products are far superior to shark or dyson. I’ve tried both and would not have one as a free gift after using a Sebo . German products wether they are vacuums , cars or electric toothbrush’s are much better quality than anything that as made in china on it .
