I really like the bike and performance. For me, I would likely wear out before the battery. But, before going completely electric for mx (pro and amateur), the manufacturer's need to develop longer battery life or just make it easy (and reasonably affordable) to swap batteries. I might be wrong, but I think the other major manufacturer's have tentatively agreed on a common battery configuration. Make changing the battery a 2 minute job. For the skeptics, I get it. I love the feeling, smells, sounds and memories of 2 strokes and 4 strokes and I'm pro fossil fuels. It is the low maintenance, infinitely adjustable power and unrivaled performance of an electric mx bikes that just makes sense. Peace and go riding!

Congrats and thanks Bryan, been following you on the E Motos for a while! You are deserving for being the first US customer. Is there any type of subframe in the back under the seat? I have dreams of a Stark enduro. Drop the power off road and increase on the pavement. There is a battery manufacturer making pouch cells for airplanes up to about double the kWh/kg of what the Varg is running, ~500 Wh/kg. 5 more years of battery development and look out, E-Motos will be everywhere.

MAn I' would like to see you do some single track and do a mileage run on that. I just rough calc I read that track is about 1 mile and about 2min/lap. That said 30 minutes should be around 15 miles or close to. That is at higher throttle, for me, at 65years old, I think I could make my 25 miles if I starrted with 100% and just used the 40hp setting. I have a 300XC-W and almost never open it up and seldom get above 3rd gear in the woods. At 25 miles I'm give out. Sure would be nice, no more kick starting, no more stalling on the side of a hill, no more pistons, no more cranks, no more premix, etc. Bring it home, spray it off, plug it in and done.

Thanks for the video, Bryan! The bike is really really cool but as a Varg fan I'm disappointed. Even it you had it on 100% it's still a 1 moto bike and if one of the top 3 guys in AMA would ride it, it won't even last 30 minutes TBH. This fact really raises a big concern regarding this bike being competitive 😕 I hope they can do some magic in the SW to make it more efficient but right now (after they already enlarged the battery size) it's a disappointment in this area specifically.😥 I thought it would last for a 60 ride with your riding skills (which are really good! you're a fast rider).

Hard to say how much longer those 13% of the top battery will take you. If it's actually only 13% witch will give him only 5 more minutes, I'm also disipointed. Hes not that heavy rider and not on a full race phace.. I really hope those extra 13% on the top is more power than that.
@randyarnson9396

Agreed, just looking at the numbers & assuming it’s at a steady rate of power drain he was able to ride 26 min before hitting the 20% indicator & noticeable power drop. He started riding at about the 3 min mark & hit the 20% around the 29min mark. So 87% to 20% in 26 min or 2.5769% battery per min of riding at his weight, skill level on that track. So that additional 13% would give him roughly another 5 min of ride time. So 31 minutes total at his level of variables. Probably plenty for most riders but definitely not enough for a pro at a 30min +2 lap national. Why is the battery only able to charge to 87% is another question & when will Stark fix that, update the SW?

5.25.23 Great video demonstrating the bike. Question: What would you estimate that the engine braking puts back into the battery? You cannot draw 60,000 watts (80hp) from a battery the size of the whole motorcycle. Nobody is certifying these power ratings you need to look into this a little further. Unless they have somehow tripled battery energy density, this bike would struggle to be certified for 10 SAE HP.

@@SupercarEngg Friend, taking a hp dyno measurement without something to compare it to back to back is elementary ripping somebody off tactics. I have seen these electric bike dyno measurement videos. I noticed the superskinny tire, a dyno that has been calibrated to read extremely high (happy dyno) and a limited amount of white open throttle time. It's smoke and mirrors, the reality is this bike is an embarrassing flop. Everyone uploading videos of electric bikes is showing a handpicked harpacked situation, you never see these things racing against fast bikes or riders, only actors and editing makes these videos possible. I have been trying to get somebody to come up here to Grand County Colorado with an electric dirt bike to make one trip around the BLM land. I have offered several brand new dirt bikes, cash the guest cabin food generators everything needed.. All I want is the rights to make a KZfaq video with the results. Jumps straight, feels nimble with the instant torque. You have a lot of pitch control with electric. In a sense its safer, cuz if you start endoing you can correct it by simply wacking the throttle since you're not limited to a rev limiter in 2nd/3rd/4th/5th gear like you are on a gas bike. Hold it pinned in the air and the back tire whicks up to max speed quickly.

Can you tell us more about your suspension settings? Apparently the bike comes stock with the forks completely down, probably because the bikes turns well and they are more looking for stability. But what’s your sag? Clickers etc and how does the bike feel compare to the Alta or gas bike for you? Also some people were saying that the Alta wasn’t good on sand track. What’s your take on it?
@bwhaskell
@bwhaskell Жыл бұрын
My bike came with the forks about 5mm up in the clamps, sprung for my weight (of course), clickers set at 12 out, and sag was at 98mm. I put the forks flush in the clamps right away but decided to go back to 5mm since it felt like the front end was riding a bit high. Suspension feels great, just a few minor clicker adjustments but its still breaking in. I have some plans with a company that i'll announce here soon. Hard to compare to my Alta right now becuase it has air fork and custom valving. But so far, i'm really happy with the stock Varg suspension.

Or even five minutes to swap. The way the battery is in currently, it seems like four bolts and an electrical connector would be fairly simple for a battery swap. If they ever try to race outdoors, it sounds like they wouldn’t be able to make both moto’s even with recharging in between.
