How to fall asleep fast? Try an original long bedtime story for grown ups.
This is a deep sleep hypnosis, guided sleep meditation sleep story for grownups designed, like all my deep relaxation adult bedtime stories, to calm an overactive mind, reduce stress, worry and anxiety while helping you to fall asleep quickly, tackling insomnia.
This is a long sleep story for grownups created during a livestream with ideas from viewers. This healing sleep story for grownups is a bedtime story for grownups about someone at home clearing out their loft. They find photographs and look through the photos, stopping to look at photos of Paris. They went through a box of old photos handed down through their family. They found a photo of Egypt, they drifted into a reverie, thinking about what it would have been like to be in Egypt in a tent. They imagined walking into a pyramid. They find a secret path deeper into the pyramid. Deep in the pyramid they discover a pulsing orb which seems to pulse through the chamber and their body. They reach towards the orb. With a pulse, they find themselves in a location looking like snow, but the snow was warm to the touch. Then another pulse and they find themselves in a location with a meadow. With each pulse, they find themselves in a different location. Then they touch the orb and find themselves in a forest. This time the pulse doesn't end and they find that the experience doesn't fade. They head to a waterfall, down to a lagoon. They head to a cottage. They see someone on a jetty near the cottage. The person is just sat there, not responding to them trying to engage in conversation. The person eventually greets them and explains that they were in a deep meditation. The person explained about the orbs. They explain that they are a robot and that the orbs are advanced technology. The robot takes them down to a secret room with a chair in the middle of the room. The person sits in the chair, has a helmet put on their head and using light and sound, the helmet triggers a binaural experience which forms into a vivid visualisation of being on a beach. They find someone painting who explains to them about what they are doing. They find themselves next drifting to the experience of being in an aquarium. Leaving the aquarium, they find themselves in an art gallery. After their experience, they find themselves back in the chamber as they take off the helmet. They head back up to the cottage and to the jetty. The person found their way back to the orb and found themselves back in the chamber in the pyramid then drifted out of the experience, back to the loft and continued to sort out and tidy the loft. The person then went on a camping road trip to connect with a different way to approach the future. On returning home, they find themselves drifting to sleep so peacefully, soundly and comfortably.

Dan I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the videos you put on KZfaq. I have exam anxiety, which affected my sleep, you have helped me sleep well during the final few months of my medical entrance exams( which got delayed due to the pandemic). I got my results few days back , and I scored very well. I owe a part of my success to you !

Figured I would try youtube and I can't beleive you have a whole channel! I am so rested and relaxed listening to you, you have the best stories. Pyramids, aliens, undergeound worlds, fantasy and mystery. They are so interesting, relaxing, and entertaining! Please keep creating stories and thank you for what you do. It has helped me so much, where I look forward to going to bed just so I can turn on one of your sleep Stories. Much love, a big fan 🥰

Love love love the background music on this one. I never heard the one with percussion but this is just right to help me sleep. Sometimes (when my stress levels are particularly high) I am just barely awake while you do a pause and when you start talking again a startle awake.😅 I find it hilarious but frustrating due to the fact that now-a-days you are the only thing that helps me sleep.

The volume ratio on this one is perfect, though I hope that altering the video did not add too much to what I assume to already be a large workload- and I hope you are finding opportunities to rest if so. It was thoughtful of you to remove the percussion for one of the commenters on the previous version. However, like another commenter here, I also particularly enjoyed the music on that one, so if in some future video you wanted to put it in, I would very much enjoy it ♡ That being said I like this music too! Nice and spacey and non-intrusive. And I really do love the visual in the background! Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos and for always looking for ways to cater to the widely varying preferences and requests of your viewers

I had thought of an idea before the end of the premiere to improve the video without very long processing and while starting to make those changes I was trying to keep also flicking back to the premiere to read and engage in that knowing that as soon as it ended I was going to have deleted the posts about it and had already set the video to unlisted ready to delete once a new version was uploaded. I worked on this until 1am, left it processing over night, woke to the content about the backing music being too loud and your reply, so I then reduced the volume further and reprocessed the video again. I think there might be a case of it depending on the speakers of the device you listen on, because it was just gentle background music on my laptop I made the video on and on my TV and on my MacBook Air and to me, it sounded nice and at just the right level. The next morning I checked it on my mobile phone and it was good on there, definitely not impacting on the speech in any way, I had already lowered the audio a lot because on my laptop, which is expensive with what seem to be poor speakers, it crackled when the high pitched notes played at the volume I initial set it at while editing it wearing headphones, yet sounded fine through headphones, which is why I had tried it on different devices. I assume that the closer the speakers or perhaps if it is a mini speaker maybe that clumps all the sound together and make the background too loud, I know I've had that experience in the past and making it much quieter than it was already made meant that you couldn't hear the background music properly and it then became an annoyance because you would just occasionally hear a bit of sound of drums. It might be that at that low level you would have heard it fine on the devices which were playing the music sounding too loud, or more likely to on top of each other rather than spread out as it sounded on my phone, computer Mac and TV. By the time I had edited and processed this I then saw the comment about the drum and so decided to make new audio without the drum, so it is the same chord progression, same synth sounds, same rhythm etc, but with the drum removed and then set at volume 8 instead of 10. I didn't read any of the comments on the video while I was doing all this and assumed almost no-one would be likely to see the video now it won't be showing in search results and now I had removed the posts on Facebook, Twitter and KZfaq, the last comment I saw was about the drum noise,and then as soon as I uploaded the new version, constantly referencing the videos on the channels which my sleep meditations are like, where all these other channels obviously get far more views, so what they are doing is obviously a far more desired than sleep meditations done how I've largely been doing them over the last year or so (it is one year of my channel being a sleep meditation channel), I then deleted the video without ever checking to see if there has been anymore comments. Obviously the idea is the the banking music to be there but unobtrusive, just really filling the silences so that your brain knows the track is still playing and the video is to have something on screen for during premieres and because I think there are people drawn in because of the visuals even if their eyes will be closed, but the idea is for it to be a dark image. It took until 1am and then I continued working on this from 7am until 6:30pm the next day before finally finishing this new version. Obviously I want to try to get things right now, ideally with a standard backing track that can be the same across all stories so that I don't get people saying they like a meditation but wish I used the music from one of the other meditations. I want to know that if people like a meditation and the music and so subscribe, that they know what they get each upload. I personally prefer the drum music, but I want to maximise views, so it isn't about what I like, but about what the maximum number of people don't mind, and so from watching similar videos across dozens of similar channels they all have exactly the same style of audio, similar moving images and similar structure. One of the channels I checked out for example only has 5k subscribers yet their videos get about 15k views in the first day and over 50k views in the first week, whereas on average I have over 70k subscribers and get an average of 1000 views in the first day and 6000 views in the first week, then generally people move on to my next new video and views on the previous video drop to about 10 per day. There are occasional videos that do well and some videos, for example, my Railway Holiday video, that don't do well, that has been live for two weeks and had just over 3000 views. So compared to similar channels my videos don't do that well generally, but I'm one of the few who uses just black screen, does intros, has no background music, makes each meditation up, and makes each up based on viewer ideas...

@@DanJonesHypnosis Ah ok, yes the speaker I was listening through is rather small, and I hadn't tried listening to a meditation with music through them before, so that may have impacted how it sounded. I think some people with notifications turned on may have continued to find the video after you made it unlisted through their KZfaq inbox, as I'm sure this was how I went back to it later and so didn't realise at the time that it was now unlisted. Yes the visuals are definitely appealing and I can imagine it easily catching someone's eye as they scroll. My goodness that is a VERY long work day. Please do relax too! The difference in views is incredibly frustrating, I really enjoy how you have done yours and have never felt the need to check out any other sleep meditation channels. I do wish you would get more views. And creating them on the fly and involving viewers makes your channel unique and personal. I really hope the changes you are trying out work out well for you
@DanJonesHypnosis
@DanJonesHypnosis 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I made it unlisted rather than private because I thought there would be some viewers who perhaps watched the premiere but would come back to listen at bedtime and wonder where it went and I didn't want them to have nothing if they wanted to do this so didn't want to remove it until I had the replacement uploaded and live, I just wanted to reduce new people finding that certain so that their first experience of it would be the new version. Yes, it is difficult to cater for everyone. I know there are people who like no music/no sound effects etc, who like long stories or compilations only, who like black screen and they are often very vocal on my channel, yet I see few of these types of comments requesting these things on others channels and those channel, even new channels who do similar to what I do seem to have more of an audience for what they are doing with background music, moving image etc. As you know, a few months back I released mediations with no introduction and just writing on screen to see if this reduced the number of people who click off my videos in the first 30 seconds but it made no difference, I still had 40% of people clicking off the video even when the video got straight into the meditation but there was a significant drop in community engagement and subscribers, so I'm seeing what I can do to improve things on my channel by learning from other channels in the sleep meditation niche. 9th September is the one year anniversary of my channel being a sleep meditation channel and all changes over that year have been based on viewer feedback rather than also looking at what others who are successful at this are doing, so a year in, that is what I'm finally trying to do...

@@DanJonesHypnosis oh my, I agree with Holly, that was a lot of work for one video and I too hope you get to rest. I love the drumming but also found it a bit too loud though not as bothersome as some others apparently. But as you have said, the device you use makes a difference and neither my phone or laptop have particularly good speaker systems so that likely played a part.

@@DanJonesHypnosis That's bizarre that people aren't making those requests of other sleep meditation channels. I wonder if it's partly because you engage with your viewers really well? I find on so many other channels generally that the majority of comments, even those directed at the creator, are not responded to (though obviously with very large channels that would not be feasible anyway). Perhaps you get these comments/requests precisely because they feel like they would be listened to, whereas perhaps on the sleep meditation channels you've looked at, people don't bother because they don't think their request will be noticed or actioned? Also I can't believe it's been a year already! I know you don't have the view numbers you want yet but I still think your channel has grown really well in that time

OK let me correct myself I have you on a playlist I’ve been listening to for probably two years but I run into these videos on KZfaq and then it says LGBTQ on the first thing I’m trying to go to sleep not worry about people genders and shit like seriously nobody gives a fuck
@DanJonesHypnosis
@DanJonesHypnosis 2 жыл бұрын
If you have been listening to my sleep stories for two years you will likely have listened to dozens of sleep stories of mine featuring LGBTQ characters. You will likely also have noticed that often, just like in this story you are commenting on, gender or sexuality isn't mentioned in the title, description or in the story itself, because it usually isn't relevant to the story (the exception is obviously love or relationship stories). As you say, nobody gives a fuck. It doesn't usually matter or have relevance to the story whether the person is male or female or who they find themselves attracted to, so it isn't mentioned. The only way you would know with this story that the character identifies as 'they', is that they are referred to as 'they'. Beyond that, you probably wouldn't notice, just like in real-life, if a news story was told about someone being the first to discover a specific pyramid, the news story would be about the discovery, perhaps about what happened to make that discovery, what the person learned from making the discovery etc. You wouldn't necessarily know the gender or sexuality of the person who made the discovery, because it isn't relevant to the story, the story isn't likely to say 'gay man discovers pyramid' or 'straight man discovers pyramid' or 'lesbian discovers pyramid' etc, more likely 'explorer discovers pyramid' or 'archeologist discovers pyramid' etc. The same applies in most of my stories, that it isn't relevant, but I acknowledge that life experiences happen to everyone, so obviously, sometimes characters in my stories will be from the LGBTQ community, just like in real-life and where they identify as 'they' I will say 'they' where they identify as 'he' I will say 'he', where they identify as 'she' I will say 'she' etc. If this hasn't been a problem for you for two years, I don't understand why it would suddenly be a problem for you now? You have spent two years, happy to enjoy my stories with male and female characters, some from the trans community, some not, some straight, others gay, etc., and seem to have only decided to have a problem with it when, I assume, you discovered I have a playlist here on KZfaq of which of my stories have LGBTQ+ characters in them (as this has so far never cropped up in a story title and is probably only briefly mentioned in a couple of descriptions from over 250+ stories where I may say something like 'he goes on safari with his husband' or 'she goes camping on a beach with her girlfriend').
