How to fall asleep fast? Try an original long bedtime story for grown ups.
This Scottish Cabin by the Lake bedtime story is a deep sleep bedtime story for grown ups designed, like all my adult bedtime stories, to calm an overactive mind, reduce stress, worry & anxiety while helping you to fall asleep quickly, tackling insomnia.
This is a long sleep story for grown ups created during a livestream with ideas from viewers. This healing bedtime story for grownups is about being on an old steam train. You travel on the train with a friend, heading from London to Scotland. You relax in your seat and comfortably drift asleep dreaming about being in a row boat, rowing along the side of a forest. You pull over and camp by the edge of the river. The next morning, you wake up greeted by a swam of beautiful butterflies that settle into a tree. You continue your journey walking along the river bank and then into the forest. You discover a clearing with an ancient temple. You walk into the temple, finding it a calm and relaxing place to be. You descend below the temple where you find a chamber with a proto-language on the walls of the chamber. The writing tells the story about aliens visiting and starting this culture, ending with a magic spell described which can connect you to the Gods. You give the spell a go. You discover that you connect with an automated psychic beacon. You find that knowledge and wisdom is transmitting into you. As you exit the temple, you begin to notice the sounds and movement of the train and find yourself awakening on the train again. As the journey continues in the early morning shortly before sunrise, you notice lightning flashing among the mist outside and then there is darkness, followed by seeing a view out of the window of mountains. The train comes to a halt. The guard tells the passengers that there is nothing to worry about, something strange has happened. As you look behind the train, you notice that there seems to be a portal which the train has passed through. A scientist arrives and tells the passengers that a science experiment has gone wrong and accidently created this portal. They say that there are 8 rifts open around the central experiment. They have been trying to check each portal to make sure nothing comes through them, but this one has a train which has gone through it. The scientists help get the train back through the portal, before closing the portal. On arrival at your destination, you have dinner before heading to bed. The next day after breakfast, you go hiking and meet someone out walking a cat. You stroke the cat before continuing your journey. You find a warm lake which you swim in. After swimming, you head to a nearby cabin. In the cabin, you open a book which emits a blue light. You discover that many of the books emit light. As you touch the side of the bookshelf, it vanishes, revealing an new world. The person with the cat arrives at the cabin. The cat seems to be looking at something, you wonder what it is looking at. Someone dressed in purple suddenly appears. They explain about the way the world used to be, with witches and wizards and fantastical creatures. They share that the portal in the bookcase is a portal to a spirit world. After your encounter, you head back to the hotel, spend some time in the spa, enjoying a relaxing break, before heading back home to London and experiencing the pleasure of being home, sleeping in your own bed.

Glad that they are helpful. As a therapist I make each one therapeutic, making these similar to how I do therapy, with each one focused on helping with stress, anxiety and worry and often at the request of people in the creation sessions when I'm making these I also included therapeutic content for other issues like pain, PTSD, OCD, weightloss, grief, it whatever it happens to be that came up in the creation session.

I'm always recommending people find their favourites and rewatch them and not to just watch the latest ones. Before my channel became a sleep meditation channel September 2019 whenever I would get continue telling me to post more sleep meditations, rather than people just watching and making do with the many get already have access to use, I would reply explaining that since the 1990's I've listened to the same couple of sleep meditations, that this makes them more effective etc and that the biggest way to make sure I never post new ones is for me to read comments from people who don't want to relisten to what I've already done because reading that shows that there is no point making new tracks if once I make the next me track at some point people will stop listening to the last tracks. Obviously now I just post and ignore these comments and have the mindset that I'm making the tracks for me because it makes income and try not to focus on evidence that many people only want the latest meditation and don't want to use the library of meditations available to them and never seen to even explore the collection available because if I paid attention to this evidence I would stop doing what I do, not because of KZfaq but because I would see no point in doing it. So I try really hard to keep my focus off of that. To my mind it is a bit like someone discovering Queen's most recent song, listening to that and then contacting Brian May to ask him for Queen to make more music while totally ignoring the entire Queen back catalogue of songs and then complaining the they have listened to the song now and so need the artists to continually pump out new music because they won't relisten to what is available. Obviously I'm not saying you were doing this, just explaining about having a library of hundreds of tracks available and the frustration with those who do do this and that it shouldn't make any difference really whether I post new meditations or not because of the library of meditations available already which is enough to keep people going for decades without needing any new content. Obviously when I stopped posting meditations briefly my analytics revealed that unfortunately there are a very large number of subscribers who think this way, who stopped listening to my meditations because they weren't new meditations, rather than views from subscribers continuing as normal which is what you would expect.

@@DanJonesHypnosis I enjoy your previous meditation as well, but the feeling that you’re communicating with us is soothing also. Plus, you’ve evolved as a storyteller whether you realize it or not. The newer group from first person perspective are my favorites personally.

@@lindsayr6208 I still do the same I've always done, I listen to my work regularly because for example I'm editing 2018 meditations currently for streaming and downloads albums and I don't do anything different in those to what I do in my current meditations, I use the same techniques, create therapeutic metaphors the same, use the same voice and pauses etc (although I ruin my work more nowadays by reducing pause lengths rather than leaving them as they should be for best therapeutic effect), since 2019 (and my long 2018 meditations) I create them using ideas suggested by viewers rather than me using random words created with my meditation creation tool or words and ideas given by real clients. I'm curious what you think is better when to me there is no change, each of the 230 or so meditations are created in the same way and very simplistic and unskilled compared to when I use these skills in therapy (like the demonstration I share in each video description)

@@DanJonesHypnosis oh no I’m sorry I didn’t mean for it to come off that way. I listen to all the old ones as well!! I just like new content because it’s new stories to explore and enjoy. Kinda like how I don’t reread the same book over and over if I could read a new one and explore a new world. Of course I have books that I go back and reread but new is good too. Your work is great and I enjoy listening every night. Iv listened to almost all of your videos on KZfaq. I don’t have money to buy on your website or any other platform unfortunately. Please don’t take what I said as a bad thing. I am sorry if I offended you :( I actually listen to a few of them routinely namely the dragon series and lately the Christmas stories because it’s December. I don’t only listen to the new ones I just look forward to your new content as well.

You didn't offend me. No need to apologize. I think the difference is that these are therapy and serve a purpose. I've never re-read a novel and rarely re-watch films and never re-listen to audiobooks etc, but do listen to the same self-hypnosis tracks when I need to and listen to the same sleep meditations that I've learned to for about 20 years because they serve a purpose and re-listening and engaging with the tasks increases their effectiveness.

Can't get enough of your videos!! The fantasy ones are my favourites... where there are portals or time travel, etc I've got an idea!! ..what about one of Atlantis!? An underwater one, with mermaids & mermen... Or flying... being able to fly, landing on trees, flying over the countryside & cities.. If I had a super power, I'd pick being able to swim/breathe underwear...or fly!

2 things I like about your meditations. Number 1 they're long, which I really appreciate. So many other's meditations start out okay, but within 15 minutes or so there's no more talking. I need the verbal input input to be able to distract myself to go to sleep. The 2nd is you never know what's gonna happen in them. You have quite the imagination . One other thing, and this makes 3, is that you have a lot of them. I just want to thank you for making them and having them there for us.

Thank you, yes, I have over 300 original tracks on my channel and then many of the early ones also have music versions and a handful have sound effects versions, and then I have many long compilation videos of around 6-11 hours long, and the individual tracks vary from very short to about 100 minutes long, with the average being between 45-60 minutes. Many were created during livestreams with viewers suggesting ideas for me to make the tracks with and me taking those ideas and in the same stream, creating the therapeutic track (there is a playlist of the creation session livestreams), there are playlists by track lengths for people who only really like a specific length for sleep, or who want perhaps short tracks for day time meditations...

Here is the playlist for tracks with music: kzfaq.info/sun/PLp0cU22E4NrKQqs6siDEaWnf4rOTBWgPK Most of the tracks are 3 hour tracks with the sleep meditation at the beginning, in the beginning of the descriptions of these they say how long the meditation is, so if you just want the longer ones, either you might recognise the track name, or just check the beginning of the description.

I kept all my meditations on here, I just didn't post anything new until KZfaq said I shouldn't have the midroll ads problem again. They didn't confirm what he problem was or that it is fixed, so it may happen again and obviously if it does I'll stop posting meditations again but this time won't just take their word for it, I would keep asking for evidence. This time I kept asking for evidence, they kept refusing to give me evidence or an explanation and then stopped replying and closed the case saying if it happens again let them know...
