Hes not even at tdc. The dowel on the cam sits at 3 o’clock when at “tdc” but use dial indicator to verify.

Gen 3 LS yes but gen 4 with vvt cam swap, have to remove the whole thing...

And not just replace the cheapest part in the oil pan especially when it looks like it has the oil they put in it from the factory let alone the 2 years of free oil changes the dealership gave this is exactly what not to do with your ls and tip for measuring slack in timing chains if it's not perfectly straight when held @ 90 degrees it shouldn't have any droop if so it's stretched way too much time to try and cheat on the first thing I want to change about 99% of people that will want to do the same not even speaking of this guy's work I'm looking at the engine itself as it's intended for a junkyard please write on outside this is the one on KZfaq for all us that goes to junkyard looking for good ls cores 🙏

wee little quick cam swaps where you aren't worried about changing lifters. Swap out springs and send it.

I did ...and used 220,000 mile lifters...same balancer bolt too... I can redline that thing all day

The black tar of an engine with bad bad bad oil change history. My 6.2L with 150k miles is clean as a whistle (like a new engine) because oil changes are my obsession. Insane when I see these videos with black slugged up engines. Yuk🤢

Yeah why pull the oil pan to undo the pickup line from oil pump if youre just changing the cam. If you were doing a new chain too then thats a different story.
