Secrets of Šolta 🇭🇷 Hidden Tunnels | WW2 History | Shipwrecks | Abandoned Places

We explored the lesser-known Croatian Island of Šolta across from Split. I explore the abandoned JNA Coastal Guns and underground Tunnel Network before heading to the shipwreck of the "Kontessa" in the shallow, clear waters. Then in Tanija Cove, the landing spot of 2 Commando during their raids during WW2 under command of "Mad" Jack Churchill we trace their steps to Grahote, where the combat took place.

It's quite amazing how much manual labor went into building those underground tunnels through mostly stone and rock hard soil. Another nice find by you!!

@@user-ct9en9wh9x I've been in a few now but yeh the first one was a bit rough, almost got hit in the face by a bat (the animal) and something else moved in it. So after that it was pretty calm 😆, thanks for watching!

Bro get yourself some cheap sneakers for going into those Bunkers. All that loose rock and debris in those tunnels with mess up your Feet. I know you were going to the Beach later right. Anyway, another Great Exploration vid and some Great WW II History on the Commando Raid. Good stuff.

it was all built in the late 60's nothing to do with WW2, interesting anyway, greetings from reddit!

Thanks, but I mentioned that it was not WW2. The WW2 part was the commando raids on the Island.

@@wynwilliams6977 but you are right, I was confused before I edited the video. The Italian cupola and the similar design to the tunnels in Zadar threw me off. I thought that the JNA had used them after, but my friend confirmed what you said 👍
