If you take the JMZ to Marcy Ave, there's still remnants of an old extension to an old ferry terminal that no longer exists. Look at where the billboard is located and you can see the remnants.

That was the Broadway Ferry terminal to the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It opened in 1888 to serve the Ferry that was already in service for many years. When the bridge opened in 1908, the terminal was served by a shuttle train from Marcy Avenue with a stop on Driggs Avenue. It ended in 1916. And the tracks were used to store rush hour trains for express service.

When you take a brooklyn bound F train to Lex 63 and look to the left of the train before pulling in to Lex 63, you will see a tunnel leading to nowhere. Most likely this will connect the F line to the SAS Phase 3.

On the 7 train (Flushing Line) I've noticed some green structures, like little sheds on the same level as the track (somewhere along Queen Blvd). I'm not sure what they are or what their purpose is. I can't find anything about them online, does anyone here know what they are?

But it closed in 1980 due to high crime. But the MTA would've opend it .it would be the connection to the B-46 Select as well as B-46 local Q-24 and B-38 and B-47 ..Also now the G train route. The Myrtle ave-Willoughby ave station 🚉had another way to get on the Subway at Willoughby ave . But has ben closed way back in the day's sir .

Goodnite sir here's another gem of New York City Subway sir. Do you remember the 23 street Ely ave Station E F and Court Sq G and 7 Trains was'nt connected. Back in the days you had to change outside from 23 F and F street Ely ave to make connect for for the 7 train. Lucky for everybody the MTA had connect EMG and 7 trains at Court Sq stations 🚉 sir.

One secret of the subway in Manhattan, im not sure if this was said but if you take the (7) to the last stop, 34 - Hudson Yards, while you're getting ready to pull into the station, there's actually signs before entering the station that you can see thru the windows that state "XX(X) FEET UNTIL STATION". I don't know, just seemed cool to add.

At W.33rd st. & 7th ave. next to the famous Sbarro is 159 33rd. St. INSIDE this building's vestibule there is an entrance to the 2/3 train lines. No one would know this as there are no "train entrance" or "2,3" signs on the outside of the building. My mom worked there in the 90's and as a kid I always found that fascinating. Seeing the Hotel St. George in this video reminded me of it.

There's a storage line aka 5th line in between Queens Plaza and 36 St., specifically between Queens Plaza and where the current F train ascends/descends into 21 St. Queensbridge. I remember seeing an E train being stored on the 5th line along with a works train.

Goodmorning sir and That was a great video sir . And thank's for all of the great history about MTA. Did you know there's still a part of the Fulton St El. By Boadway Junction The J /Z witch use to when a train 🚉 needs to make a move to allowe another train 🚉to either enter the East New York Yard . Also there still switch that allows the L train 🚉 to connect to J/Z lines at Boadway Junction sir.

Having that line go down linden boulevard to cambria heights would’ve served really close to my neighborhood, I’m pissed that the MTA can’t budget well enough to make it happen.

The First System of the Independent Subway was started in 1929, with major parts completed just about the beginning of the Great Depression, this represents the major sections of what today we call the A through H Subway lines. However several major sections in existence today were completed after World War 2, and during the mid-1950's. The Second System of the Independent Subway announced on the eve of the Great Depression would never ever get built - leaving obscure tunnel bulkheads to conjecture about. About 90-95% of what we call the "subways" existed prior to 1968 when the MTA was formed. The NYC mid-1970's fiscal crisis and other NIMBY events put the Kakashi to many subway expansion plans and ideas. Folks wondering why the MTA didn't build this line or that line simply do not know their NYC Transit History.

Goodmorning sir . And thank-you for the history lesson and that was a great video sir. Did you know that it use be a extra Subway Station Between Flushing ave and Mytle ave on the J and M subway lines. In the 1800's to 1919 or 1916. It was called Park ave station sir. Also sir there's still a connect between the J train and Ltrains at B'way Junction . But here's something that alot of folks still don't Know about the Boadway Junction train st names for the A and C it something different Boadway. The station was once called Manhattan Junction way back . 1885 . This subway station had change it's name a few times over the years. It was called Boadway East New York on the A and C and On the J and Z and L it was was called Eastern Parkway Station back in the days also. But it was change about 20 years ago. To just Boadway Junction I believe. Sir.
