I really enjoyed this episode, superbly presented and fascinating documentary bringing ancient history in Derbyshire back to life. Can't wait for the next one!

How is there so many recognizable letters the letter RW keep showing up

As far as I know, the W is actually a crossed V, for Mary, Virgin of Virgins. PM is Pace Maria. There are also diagonal lines and boxes which I believe were for capturing evil, and there are markings of ladders too. There are a few hundred apotropaic markings in the cave, but also a lot of graffiti! - Jo
