Section Modulus is an easy way to relate area moment of inertia to maximum normal stress. Here's a short explanation of what section modulus is and how to use it.

Hey, Your videos are amazing for students n structual engineerig. Well done 🙂. Is it possible for you to show us a step by step video of analysing a 6 multy storey building from start to finish. Calculations of dead + live loads. Structual analysis ( statics of the whole building with frames). Finding the momemts, shear, normal and tortion in every element. Or by using andvanced FEM design hand calculatated, nodal displacements, bucking, deformation, rotations, etc. Wind load on the building exterior walls. Snow load. Earthquake assumption! Even if possible with geotechnical solutions. Leaving holes in the slab for other technical issues ( ventilation, water, wastewater, etc). Calculating every element, from foundation to columns, to beams, to slabs, walls to roofing. With many different building materials: glass, steel, reinforced concrete, wood, aluminium, etc. It could have been awesome because you know the subject very well. This could have been the greatest thing we could learn the young students. You are awesome🙂👍

Could you please do an experiment where you load a beam and then do a theoretical calculation and then see how well the young's modulus from both methods correlate. thanks

Sir i just read this from my notes. Somehow i lost the lecture of moment of inertia and section modulus and you just made it very clear. Sir i have a question is section modulus is first moment of area. Thank you so much .
