Italian Heirloom is a wonderful tomato. I grew it for the first time last year and have it going again this year. Fabulous flavor.❤️

Fruition is local to me and I love their seed selection! I have grown thr Italian paste ans it is very productive ans tasty. Tried the lemon ice tomato in 2021 and it was good but not my favorite. I planted 30 San Marzano tomatoes last year and got a bumper harvest and made lots of sauce!

I ordered Violet Sparkle pepper seeds, too (from Baker Creek), to try for the first time this year! This will be my first go at a spring/summer garden from seed completely on my own. Hoping to rig up the tomato and pepper seeds I’m trying out this year in the next couple of weeks, too! I’ll definitely be following along with your journey. As a fellow NC gardener, it’s been super helpful to learn from your processes. 💙✨🌱

Have you tried any seeds from Monticello? They have direct descendants from Thomas Jefferson's vegetable garden.

I think that it's interesting to know which companies grow the seeds themselves vs the ones that are big enough that they outsource some of their seed growing to small farmers. Like MIGardener talks about having partnerships with many small seed farmers. And baker creek seeds. Edit to add: so it's not possible to know where the seeds were harvested from/adapted to I'm also trying home made pickle cucumbers and peanuts this year too!

Oh and Grounded Haven Homestead is a Virginia channel that is grew peanuts successfully this last year (and in 2021). She has a really soothing, informative style of videos. I highly recommend!

Yea you have to keep that in mind too. But when you’re buying from local small farms and they say on they’re website that they are grown there, you know they’re grown on directly on their farm and are regionally adapted, like Kids Seed Co! And Southern Exposure, while they may outsource, all of their seeds are still coming from the south! But the huge companies like baker creek you def never know where those seeds are coming from
