I own this watch I I like it more than my quartz Tuna and Rolex Sub. I’m strangely addicted to turning its bezel. It wears light and fits my 6.8” wrist, which surprised me. I’m now tempted to also add an Emperor Tuna.

The Spring drive Tuna wears probably the best as the lugs are outside the diameter of the watch head. The emperor is a beast but comfort wise you can’t go wrong with the SD tuna. Too bad they’re discontinued.

This Tuna generation suffered from the less than nuclear bright lume. This was remedied in the SBDB013 🍻

@@djpharoah7XL Just curious - did the SBDB001 also suffer from the less than nuclear bright lume? If yes, was this also remedied in the SBDB011?

Supposedly so. These are around that same time when Seiko switched to their current formula of Lumibrite.

I prefer this over its successor (SBDB013) as this one doesn't have the Prospex X anywhere.

Great watch. This is not ceramic bezel but very nice looking.

You're correct. After doing more research it seems just a polished finish on an insert that's most likely some metal. Had me fooled but thanks for the correction 🍻

CAn someone please tell me the difference between the SBDB 01 versus 09/013. I think I want to buy this watch, but, I am not sure which model to get. I want the spring drive, the Marinemaster/Professional 600 m labeling, I also want the power reservse indicator and the S stamp for Seiko on the crown. Can someone please tell me which model has all those elements. I already own the SBDB 014 the "Emperor Tuna" rated for a 1000 meters, but, I also own a GS Snowflake and absolutely love the accuracy of the Spring Drive momevment. Thanks in advance for any responses.

SBDb01 was a larger watch that was the precursor to the SBDB011 which I reviewed on the channel. SBDB009 was the first tuna spring drive and the 013 was the successor before it was discontinued. Thanks for watching and hope that helped 👍🏼

How do you like it? Is it fairly wearable? I've been on the fence on this one for years and have a gut feeling that the sbdb013 is about to get discontinued. My wrists are 7.25 inches and am wondering if it will be too big.

I have the sbdb013 and it’s very comfortable. I have a 6.75in wrist and have had the the Darth and a 300m quartz model. Out of all, it’s very comfortable due to lug design and also it’s fairly light for size. Lume is incredible and it a definite keeper! Would love to add either Emperor or a Golden Tuna but not sure of which one. Had a MM300 I just recently sold so need to fill that void.

It's more wearable if you enjoy the lugs being further out than the diameter of the shroud. All the other quartz/auto 1000m have the lugs inboard giving it a different feeling of comfort when wearing it. I think the SBDB013 would be better due to the improved lume and finishing compared to the SBDB009. 🍻

I was wondering how big the strap is. 22mm or 24mm?
@djpharoah7XL3 жыл бұрын
It’s 22mm at the lugs.

How much is a ballpark price ?
@djpharoah7XL2 жыл бұрын
Back in the day it was like $1,700-2200. Now with the spring drive being very popular these are reaching $3,000 or more. Also these are discontinued and no longer available so price goes up!

@@djpharoah7XL Thanks. I just bought one and paid about $2,700 today. Love it. I also have a SBDX014. Super love the design of Tuna, the quality of everything, and its deep water capability. Worth every penny.

It’s a great design - I’d look at the Sel instruments Omnidiver as the evolution of the tunas and then some.
