I had my spring drive choices narrowed down to the Green Kelp Forest dial SNR Ti diver. Then I found this black Tuna can on a Random channel yesterday. Sweet on a bracelet too.

Big Ed; Great post, well described. Excellent choice replacing the silicone strap with the MilTat steel bracelet. I'd love to have one today as you've really sold me on this fine time piece with its technology and hefty 50mm Tuna case. Now all I need is $3500.00 USD LOL. Excellent review! I really like this watch. I had to decide between a Sinn U1 and this exact watch. I ended up with the U1 because of the whole tool watch theme. That Seiko is an amazing watch with all the specifications and technology.

This has been the Tuna I've been eyeing for a good while now. Luckily I have very wide wrists which makes wearing larger watches a dream.

The dimensions mean it is for those who have large wrists. I've worn watches in the past that are dimensionally similar to this one. But it is still one that you can't wear every day in every situation.

Very nice watch. However, the height of 17mm and price is what's stopping me from buying it. I'll just have to be content with my Seiko SLA021 marinemaster... "first world problems"

Nice watch 👌 I didn't go with the SLA021 BECAUSE I wanted a tuna and this is my third tuna but mostly because I have the green sunset Baby Marinemaster 200 for my dress shirt duty's. But I may pick up your watch too just for a third option 😉. 1st world issues I know lol. But I love your watch too !!!

@@EricSloferwatchreviews I sold the SLA021 last week. Don't get it; the green/yellowish color the hour indices always had bothered me - the color is off and you don't see it in pictures - it's hideous. Be "THE" Tuna collector man. I find folks with one model collections to be the most interesting. Plus, the new SLA021 doesn't hold resale value. I bought mine new for $2700... sold it for $2,000 in literally perfect condition and still under Seiko warranty. TUNA is awesome. I bought the SBBN031 and it's my daily watch; my Submariner is my weekend watch. I may buy the new Tuna (mass produced 300m quartz version) that comes out late-2020. Tuna is the iconic Seiko watch, AND it comes with automatic models, quartz models, and the Spring Drive model you show. I HIGHLY DOUBT Seiko will put Spring Drive in another Tuna below $3000 man. Not the way Seiko prices are going and how Seiko treats watches with Spring Drive. This Spring Drive Tuna is THE BEST Tuna in my opinion. Although it's insanely thick at 17.1mm, I'd still own it to add to my growing Tuna collection.

@@EricSloferwatchreviews I bought the Spring Drive Tuna last summer... and is still my most worn watch (my other watches are a Rolex Submariner and Seiko Tuna SBBN033); the all black goes well with my military cammies uniform. I think I'm addicted to Tunas now because I've been eyeing the Seiko Tuna SLA041. I definitely hope Seiko Releases a 50th Anniversary of the Tuna in 2025.
