Neal Brennan, comedian and co-creator of "Chappelle's Show", once remarked to Jerry Seinfeld that "Every time I turned on Seinfeld you guys were worried about a jacket." It's true, many of the story lines revolved around coats, jackets, suits and blazers. Here is Part 1 of a compilation of these scenes.
Audio quality is not optimal as I had to record using the external speakers instead of internally. I have since acquired software that allows me to record the audio using the internal speakers for future videos. Regardless, while it’s not HD surround sound quality, it’s more than adequate.

Yes. Absolutely. It's impossible to overstate the importance of coats and jackets in New York. I haven't lived there in decades and it's still how I categorize people. Jackets say everything, shoes are commentary.

Oh gosh , I just watched a recent episode of Star Trek Next Generation an Elaine's dad was on it. It's when Captin Picard , Data an Lt Riker when into the Holodeck an they were up against gansters, Elaine's dad. His character's name was Mr Big. Unfortunately for Mr Big he disintergrated when he stepped off the Holodeck.

One annoying thing I can't stand about this time period is everyone picks apart every little thing about anything and everything! What's next, someone is going to do a video on how many times during a sitcom or movie that someone opens window, closes a damn door, shovels snow, puts on underwear, takes off underwear, opens an umbrella etc. etc? People stop being so damn weird. So there's scripts that includes sportcoats, suits, and jackets; so what?

I don't know that you can call it a "preoccupation". That kinda implies that it is an unreasonable fixation. NYC is cold. It's something that is relevant for most of the year if you live there. When I lived in the Florida Keys, all we talked about was bicycles. What model we were saving up for, that ours was stolen again by a heroin addict, that the new bus driver doesn't give us a minute to put our bike on the rack. Wasn't a preoccupation.
