the green smoke from him is anti-heal, also the key to defeating Owl is to stay on top of him, keep the constant pressure but he absolutely will fight back, there are often that you can sneak a single attack on him during his moves, use that. Also use mortal draw whenever he jumps on you(dodge instead of parry) or when he throws his anti-heal bomb(dodge to the side, not backwards. Also, be careful as you might still be in the bomb radius)

For owl I suggest when he does his leaping sword attack dodge and use mortal blade and watch out for the bombs he throws they take away your healing this boss fight is more dodging then deflecting and for second faze he throws poison instead of shurikens so watch out for that

Also dont forget to do the strong attack, piercing really gets thru owls defense

Regarding the question at start of video, if you run out od spirit emblems you can still use mortal draw, just not as effective

on next walkthrough use divine cofine it helps so much try with headless
