@@lukeasever She was brought up in a very religious environment. There are a lot of religions that are against gay people. I don't think that's ok but you can't fight against discrimination by discriminating someone for his religious belief.

There is no official rule that you have to support gay rights to be part of eurovison. She just didn't make it this one time. When she tries it next year she will probably make it. You call that punishment? You were so brainwashed that you think it's fascist to speak up against people that want to take others rights away? She wasn't just saying "I don't like gay people" - she is actively wanting gay people to have less rights than herself. Changing the law(!) to fit your religious world view and limit the freedom of others based on your religious beliefs is real facism. We are talking about laws - not just a song contest. We just want our freedom. We don't take straight marriage away. We don't want to illegalize any religion. We don't beat you up for being straight. We don't randomly kill children for "looking straight". But we are still the evil ones because we dare to exist and we aren't ashamed anymore. It's our right (free speech - heard if it?) to tell homophobic people that we don't like them and we don't have to support them if we don't want to. We don't have to ignore homophobic views. Homophobes don't ignore that we are gay. Why are we always the ones that have to respect hostile people while being punshed in the face as a reward?

@@Marios_Gr her cult initiated the 2018 referendum which was demonizing gay people. I can see why they didn't want her to represent Romania on such an important stage, but at the same time it's anything but democratic to do such a thing and ignore people's choice even if, well, she was basically voted by homophobes from her cult.

@@Marios_Gr But they obviously do? If she had changed her mind or softened her opinion she had every chance to put it right in an interview or a public post or announcement. I am the same age as her, and while I will be the first to admit I had some odd views that are directly against my current views when I was thirteen (I was against abortion, for instance), I am also the first to emphasise my current ones and argue for what is right. Laura is not a child anymore and should have the boldness to form her own opinions, not copy her parents. It is perhaps understandable why she feels this way, but that does not make it justifiable, or okay in any way.
