I think she sang all her songs better when she got a little older and her voice matured. I think she may have got a few lessons later on too because she sings the songs way better than the recordings sound Her voice was in its prime when she did the last concert at the astrdome and you can tell.

She definitely was a character. A lot of personality and always joking and laughing. She had an infectious laugh. When I heard her junior high story, I cracked up. I went to junior high with her. I was in the pep squad so there was no chance of her sitting behind us. So I did NOT have gummy bears in my hair. 🤦🏻♀️😂😂

True. Most people that are famous right now don't even have "it", and for some strange reason they are forced on us by record companies trying to make a quick buck. Ugh, it's insulting

Jlo had to completely mimic her for the Selena movie and ever since than she kinda took Selena's laugh if you notice.

@okayfloatstudios30974 жыл бұрын
I don’t hear it in JLo.. they have different personalities and mannerisms. JLo filmed the Selena movie in less than 4-5 months. She was also filming another movie Anaconda while doing Selena. I doubt in that time span she unconsciously took Selena’s traits and used it in her everyday life and it stayed for the next 22+ years. JLo has said getting into Selena’s character was difficult for her because they were polar opposites and their style of dancing was opposite. They had to get a dance teacher to teach JLo to move more gracefully and nail Selena’s way of moving. Selena’s sister Suzette even had to get in there while JLo rehearsed to show her the way her sister would move. It was a long trail and error. Even when you watch the movie JLo’s movements aren’t natural. They’re calculated and make her come off really stiff especially when she did Selena’s spins but over all she nailed Selena’s essence which was more important I think.

karla mdz she for ever lives under Selena’s shadow. That’s the only way she could ever be successful . She stole Selena’s personality to TRY and steal Selena’s fans ... she could never . You can see her faking her humbleness from a million miles away
@leticiavarga10094 жыл бұрын
Anastasia Dohl Jlo has never been humble until now I feel. I do t blame her though. She was the first Latina that became popular, and had to compete with so many, she became jaded. I do feel that her role of Selena cane one that she kept playing. She does try to laugh like her and do the same had gestures.

Christina Martinez yes absolutely! Thank you for saying this. Honestly I’ve always thought her singing and acting was mediocre. She’s beautiful and she can dance but that’s about it. Like there are sooooo many more talented singers and actresses and she doesn’t even stand in the same category as them. I won’t lie though I did find some of her songs catchy but not because of extraordinary vocals. She’s mainstream generic. The industry pumps people like her out constantly but she has a good personality so she’s been able to keep her career going.
