The Selucids & Ptolemys had to know that inbreeding was not productive. And it's just strange they kept going this practice. The fact that Cleopatra was quite intelligent with her genetic background is downright astounding! Nevertheless it is a credit to their military & political abilities in keeping their empire's robust for decades, even centuries. Always look forward to more coverage of the Selucids! Well done!

The Seleucid Empire always impressed me. They are definitely in the most awkward position of the successor Kingdoms as my TWR2 attempts at them have proven. They have many ups and downs which make them quite entertaining to learn about as well.

Which is actually based and essentialist for a Apollonic Empire, don't fall for the Ptolemaic, Mauryan, Parthian/Persian, Armenian, Pontic or Roman propaganda.

14:55 As interesting it is to have an idea on the wealth of ancient empires it’s probably best to not convert it in modern currency. It might be easier to explain their wealth by what that money could buy you and status that came with it during that time :)
