I’m just wondering if the topic about self analysis how you didn’t mention Karen Horney , her thoughts and ideas about self analysis and Psychoanalysis were very different from what you said and might be the opposite too as I understand

Interesting... As for prayer which IS a human need anything that we come up with on our own will never be enough. Self-Analysis CAN be very helpful in many ways though and can even be used to uncover and repair internal weaknesses. Thank you for this enlightening video.

This is a great video. Can you, or an analyst explain the difference (if there is one) between this concept of carrying self-analysis after internalizing the function of an analyst, and mentallization? Specifically, would it be accurate to say that through analysis one can learn to better mentalize?

If self-analysis doesn't work (as you claim), then why did it work for Freud? Why do other forms of introspection that you mention (1:18 asceticism, prayer, writing an autobiography etc) work, if all work essentially the same way, in that there's no therapist involved? You said about the latter that they were forms of self-analysis and didn't comment on their efficacy, but I find it hard to believe that understanding your own motives isn't sometimes beneficial. JP's Self Authoring Suite also works without a therapist.

seems to me that self-analysis is pulling yourself up by your own shoelaces - apparently Baron Munchausen could do it but his stories were not always fully accurate :-) P.S. Many thanks for all your great videos - really enjoying them.

DNE John's tautgology? death = money money = girls math = God God = peace Qualia = God, who knows, whatever...you can ask Dr. Kenneth Kwan for his psychoanalysis writeup 2015 - 2019 2022 it's useless, you can predict my location, velocity, apply Shrodingers uncertainity principle even, but what I can solve at a keyboard, mathematical insight, geometric insight, can never be predicted...
