OMG! That is all I have to say! I have been having pain for 3 months and just did the elbow massage over my forearm and although it was very painful I immediately felt so much better afterward it’s like it loosened all the tightened tendons. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with the world!

I have an injury from work on my hand+wrist (I work in a bookstore and I picked up something way beyond my own weight), went to three different doctors, and this massage is the only stress\pain reliever that works! Worked on the first try. Thank you very much!

Hurt my arm lifting a heavy door. I get a sharp pain in forearm when I try to lift anything. It hasn't healed after waiting two weeks. Found this video and tried your technique. The response was immediate. My arm is feeling better after just one session. Thank you so much.

Trees work extremely well for these techniques because of their irregular surfaces. I've found them to be useful on a shoulder rsi, too. And the force you're applying to a tree, because you're standing up, is easier to control than using something like a foam roller. Finding knots in trees is the best too. If you combine a massage like this with an activity like hiking or mountain biking, I'm willing to bet it'll be more effective, too, because of the increased blood flow. The points of softer furniture like couches are really useful for activating the tennis elbow spot, too. I like how you're using your bodyweight for these, too. It's hard to get a deep activation under all the junk in your arms. I'll try them out for sure. Basically there are a lot of heavy stationary objects you can use to massage yourself with your own body weight. You can do it almost anywhere, it's a great way to quickly calm down if you're feeling stressed, and, the best part is, because it's all body weight, it takes almost zero effort.

Went to phisiotherapist, I took a 25 day break to heal and doing daily stretch exercises @40minutes a day, i got tendonitis on left forearm, and i just came back yesterday to reuse the computer just a little, like test drive, after a couple hours all the pain got back and it seemed that the 25 day break did absolutely nothing so the stretching, so i came here looking for another solution and i did that self massage, i feel no more aching pain that was a thumbs up! But specific movements still hurts, the pain goes from my hand to my elbow sometimes, and the pain switch places frequently i noticed, sometimes in my hand on a specific place and other times is in my forearm in a specific place, man i am desperated for help. If you have any advice i'd be very grateful. Thank you!

kakutsu Yes, i feel burning on my left arm everyday,burning sensations inside it, but no more pain by specific movements at all, i stoped stretching, stopped everything, just taking cold baths everday and changing a little bit my diet

+Aleksander Gunther First thing, i started sleeping in a fixed schedule, 8 ~ 8:30 hours of sleep EVERYDAY (i went to sleep at 10pm because at night you body rest much more than during the day and helps kick inflammation out) Started taking omega 3, self massage everyday when it burns, i stopped ingesting so much sugar, i reduced it a lot, started trying to eat just whole foods, i still eat sometimes junk food, also, i squeeze a entire lemon in a glass of water everyday when i wake up and before i go to sleep and drink it, no sugar just pure water and lemon, i also started supplementing with magnesium chloride everyday (did for 3 months, stopped now), taking cold baths everyday, sometimes i stretch here and there but rarely, one thing i also do is JOGGING everyday, i don't know why but it seems to me JOGGING HELPS A LOOOOOOT kicking the inflamation out, there must be a link between exercise and inflammation i think, and also i try to take 15minutes sun bath everyday, and as last thing that i felt really helped me, there is a cream that you buy in pharmracy, it's an anti inflammatory cream, dude that helped me immensely, i did use it like a month ago, and then stopped, after that like i said before, i only feel burning, nowadays i use the computer the moment i wake to when i go to sleep and i feel no more achin pain, just the burning, im thinking about going back to the gym in order to strenght my fore arms and hands, i don't know which one of the things is helping directly on my tendonitis, but overall that's the habits i changed in my life in order to make a living with the tendonitis, good luck and please report back! Ps: Try to massage your arm and hands not only with your elbow, also use ur fingers to go deeply and massage where it hurts, that's what i do and it helps a lot, doing circulating movements

You're going to want to start working on your upper body too. Start reading before you go to the gym, you could make things much worse at the gym... To your healing! Eric

Thank you for sharing the self techniques. I have never experienced such extensor forearm pain (near elbow) it's a difficult area to massage, but your techniques helped me find better angles. and the advice to hold stretches for pressure points for sustained periods while moving wrist through full ROM. Hello! I am 4 months into recovery from tendonitis in my arms and wrists. The amount of pain I feel now is very minor but my arms and wrists are not back to normal yet. I am able to type at a moderate speed without issue and I feel a slight strain when lifting heavy objects. I stopped playing video games months ago and just started playing for 15 to 20 minute sessions. I am not able to play without discomfort but it is not very painful. I started your massage technique today and found it very helpful thus far.I just have two questions: 1. How many sessions of massage should I do per day? 2. Is returning to my old activities for short amounts of time wise? Thank you!

I feel you. Just a month ago I had to stop my videogame time cause I started feeling my tendons burning. I'm playing shorter sessions since then because the pain makes me stops. How are you doing? I see you wrote this comments a year ago. Have you been using this massage technique since then?

I was playing little bits of videogames but found my best success from stopping entirely to let myself recover more. I would recommend you trying the same and not straining more until you are healed.

Shouldn't we be massaging the wrist flexors, not the extenders? Its the flexors that get extremely overworked

I get best results from massaging both. You'll know when you are massaging unhealthy tissue and wherever you find it, it needs releasing!

I was told by a physical therapist not use the elbow to put pressure on top of the arm because it can damage the nerves and tendons, but he said it's okay to do that under the arm. Is that right or no?

Well I've never done any damage to my own arms. I would say the hands are even more sensitive and I also use my elbow there, carefully of course! You can harm yourself doing just about anything, even drinking water.

Massage your forearm muscles on the edge of that table there, I use objects to massage my muscles -s so far I haven't found a part of my body I can't reach with an object that's either stationary or I'm holding - but mostly stationary so you can use your body weight rather than in pure strength sometimes.

I've had bilateral forearm pain/weakness for over 3 years. So playing guitar etc causes issues and also pins and needles sometimes. Doctor and neurologist has cleared me of anything nasty. Does this sound like chronic tendonitis and should I give this method a go ? Any help/info highly appreciated.

Nooooo! He said don't do this so you don't damage your one-way blood + lymph valves. Always move toward your heart, whether with your other arm, a table, or a little help from a friend.

Extremely helpful video, thanks! I have diffuse pain in my hands/fingers, forearm, and upper arms. The problem areas feel tight and sore. Could tight muscles and tendons in the forearm and upper arms lead to pain in the fingers? I ask this because when I do any intricate movements with my fingers, the pain is first felt in my forearms and upper arms. I wonder if this is a common occurrence.

Great,video, love it! however one question: if my main pain source comes from the ulnar region in the wrist should I also try to apply pressure there aswell? Or, since this region is mostly just tendons&bones I should skip it?

Interesting, but I do wonder: What's the point of this massage if after 12 years you still suffer from tendinitis? I would be more reassured to see a really curative therapy.

That's a good question Greg - as it turns out I'm fighting Lyme disease, coinfections and copper toxicity, all of which are long slow battles... RSI can have many underlying health issues at the root and they will all involve different curative therapies unfortunately. Possibly, if you had massage before and it made things worse. The only case I'm aware of where this can happen is with fybromyalgia but even in those cases, experts say starting with lighter pressure always solves this issue. Try a very light pressure first time.

Can anyone ellaborate on what he is doing after 6:00 ? 1. He seems to press the extensor tendon against table and slide down 2. He is going down and doing twisting motion 3. At the end has turned his hand around and pressing the entire back of the forearm against the table. (which basically is applying pressure to same region he already did in the first part of the exercise) I wish he would have gone more into detail with this part, because he is massaging the extensor/flexor tendons in this part which are the ones I struggle with the most. It's pretty unclear to me whethr the same rules apply as in the other part of the video...

I can foam roll any part of my body except my forearms. Every time I do myofascisl release on my forearms, they get irritated and inflamed. It’s frustrating because I need to release those forearm extensors so I can get relief in my wrist.

You can definitely do it every day. Think of it like exercise, you don't want to go hard every day, but you do want to get some movement ;)

Hi there. Thanks for the great video ! Just wondered if I could get some advice from you ? I've been experiencing pain, soreness, tingling and numbness in my wrists and hands for two weeks. I started a new job which is on a computer around 3 months ago and have also upped my golf playing. Do you think this could all contribute to my symptoms ? My doctor feels there is no neurological problems going on. I've had some time off work due to the problem. How long with treatment do you think it could take to recover ? Just to note I'm seeing a sports physio each week for massage. Any help or advice very much appreciated. Thanks.

It shouldn't take you long to recover considering you've only had this problem for two weeks. That all depends on how much rest and therapy you do however! The tingling indicates you may have some nerve involvement. Try reading upon thoracic outlet syndrome. Pec stretches/chest openers would help free up the nerves around your collarbone if they are part of the nerve issues.

wait so you are saying I should do these daily? and what if my tendons (flexor/extensor) in the ulnar region hurt the most from doing ulnar deviations? I cant really massage that area as it's very bony there. there is literally no meat in said area.

Just another quick question. Since the pain started I've taken sick leave from work for a couple of weeks. Return next Tuesday. The work isn't constant typing but still computer work nonetheless. Should I still be able to work and use these techniques and still heal ? Obviously in an ideal world I would take a bigger break from work but most people need to work etc. Also, are wrist splints okay to use, but just at night whilst asleep ?

Unfortunately, only time will tell whether or not you can work and heal at the same time - everyone is different and every situation is different. You will know quickly though, if your pain is increasing, holding steady or decreasing, your body will let you know!! You should be okay using the splint only while sleeping.

Should not the stroke be in the opposite direction, as in towards the heart?

yes, according to most massage therapists the stroke should be towards the heart, but it's really not possible to do that on your own arm... so you have a choice, have a therapist do this for you in the correct direction or do-it-yourself incorrectly. Since I often need daily therapy, the choice has been pretty easy for me.

I find ice increases circulation substantially and works best for me. Note that It's important not to use your forearm until it has warmed back up...
