I saw one while out trail riding in like 1987, I was 10, on my 78 yamaha ty80b, dad had an 84 it490.. this banshee came out of the woods, onto the road we were parked alongside.. dude rips this wheelie and was crackin gear changes down the road! I was mesmerized! My dad and his buddy went on to talk about how that engine came from a cafe bike etc... I rode one way later in like 2001.. fckn crazy machine.. even bone stock.

Fantastic two stroke, reminds me of my youth - As far as that Husaverg is concerned - The electrex stator has been reported by some to damage the CDI unit, and it needs a MOD - The consensus is to have the original stator rewound and/pr modified - Also try spraying the stator with electronicspray to get the water out - Other obvious issues to check are the kill swith or ignition swith to see if it has got short circuit to ground and check resistances in the stator are OK - Also, make sure grounding wires have a good connection - But the consensus of opinion is (Having read forums), is that you need a MOD which stops a surge of voltage found on the electrex stators so it doesn't damage the cdi - Coils are an obvious one too, but I would start with the stator and CDi.

The bad part was every possible bearing was sacked out. It ran but was in major need of a rebuild. I road with him when he sold it for 1800$ and thought it was plumb crazy anyone would buy it for that price. The guy who bought it didnt know anything about quads too😅. I'm surprised that the grease zerk fittings aren't stuck shut. Jerking the grease gun tip off the fittings before the pressure subsides will prematurely wear out the grease gun jaws but buying new grease gun tips shouldn't be a big deal. I greased the concrete trucks I've driven for 35 years and it's a pain to use a grease gun with worn out grease tip jaws. More grease on the outside than in. Just saying
