Timo is gay. Because a boy in his class came out publicly, he gathers the courage to tell his friends but they don’t react the way he had hoped for. On top of that, his homophobic parents also find out. As he then also starts receiving anonymous threats, he doesn't see any way out of this mess.

We totally disagree! During the last 12 month three teenagers we know from our media projects tried to kill themselves. Luckily only tried. We prevented them from doing worse then this. They all felt all alone, that nobody understands them, that nobody cares about them, that nobody would help them. Sometimes there is a vicious circle that makes somebody feel so desperated that there is no way out of this. But there is! We can say about all the three that tried to suicide themselves: One has now a loving girlfriend, the other loves his job and found a passion in acting and the other one dared to come out and has much more self esteem now. But if somebody ends his*her life, there is no chance for change. This is a final decision. Irreversible. And that's why it is not a solution neither an option.

yes. Great to have sub-titles. The German language is also not so hard for an English-speaker to grasp. It's a pleasure to hear and watch. This film is not all fun and games, though.

Das ist eine ganz typische Erfahrung. Die meisten Eltern sind ja auch erst einmal geschockt, weil sie in ihren Köpfen haben: Mein Kind = heterosexuell. Aber mit der Zeit gewöhnen sich die Eltern meist daran. Sie brauchen gewissermaßen auch Zeit für ihr eigenes Coming-out als Eltern von schwulen, lesbischen, bisexuellen und trans* Kindern.

My parents personally think that u can help it with the lord, now while I’m a Christian and I’m bi I have prayed and tried to get it to go away but it never did, so I’m scared to tell me parents bc they’re gonna think I chose this when I didn’t

This is so wrong what your parents want to make you believe! Sexual and gender identity is nothing that can be chosen. So consequently is is nothing that can be changed by anybody or prayed away. There are those conversion therapies that aim to make people straight. These are no real therapies. They are fake! But they destroy peoples happiness and life. In some states they are forbidden. But in to many it is still possible to do them unfortunately. If your parents do not except you as you are they do not deserve to be parents. Try to make them watch the film PRAYERS FOR BOBBY that deals with that topic. You are all okay and beautiful with how you are. There is nothing wrong with you. It is the society and your parents who have a problem. They should start to work on their problem instead of pushing it to you. We wish you all the best. Schauspielerei zwar nicht oskarreif, aber für einen Kurzfilm absolut ausreichend. Dafür gefällt mir der Film aber eben keineswegs weniger gut. Einer meiner Lieblingskurzfilme ^^

Man merkt, dass sich Mühe gegeben wurde und die musikalische Untermalung und einige Szenen sind auch filmisch sehr gut geworden. Technisch hat auch der Comic-Stil als Traumbild gefallen. Das große ABER: Die Schauspieler konnten praktisch nichts herüberbringen und dann auch noch diese künstliche Dialogführung!

Mich berührt dieser Film immer wieder von Neuem. Er wirkt sehr realitätsnah. Wenn meine Eltern so reagiert hätten, hätte ich wahrscheinlich auch mit dem Leben gehadert. Die Ablehnung der leiblichen Eltern ist eines der schlimmsten Dinge, die einem Menschen passieren kann. Das in einigen Kommentaren benutzte Wort "Selbstmord" kann und will ich nicht mehr hören. Menschen, die sich das Leben nehmen oder es versuchen, sind deswegen mit Sicherheit keine Mörder. Mord ist eine Straftat. An sich selbst kann niemand eine Straftat begehen. Ein Suizid(versuch) ist mehr Not als Freiheit und wohl kaum egoistisch. Es ist ein Ausnahmezustand im Gehirn. In diesen Minuten sind die Betroffenen nicht in der Lage wirklich überlegt zu handeln. Ein Risiko der menschlichen Software.

Ich habe das auch mal probiert. Ich bin dann im Krankenwagen wieder aufgewacht und war benommen. Fazit: Erster Selbstmordversuch - gescheitert. Dann habe ich mir versucht, die Pulsadern aufzuschneiden, dann habe ich eine Hemmung gehabt. Fazit: Zweiter Selbstmorderversuch - gescheitert Dann wollte ich von einem hohen Gebäude springen. Welches ich meine, sage ich nicht! Meine Lunge hat richtig gekrampft und ich wäre auch noch fast runtergefallen. Fazit: Dritter Selbstmordversuch - gescheitert. Warum? Weil ich schwul bin? Vielleicht. Manchmal lässt sich das ja doch nicht verbergen. Gerade dann nicht... na ja, wenn einer aussieht wie ein Unfall auf der Autobahn und man hingucken muss. Weil ich ein perfektes Opfer war? Ja! Ich habe mich nie gewehrt. Bin ich das noch? Nein! Im Gegenteil, mit mir wissen viele nicht, wie sie mit mir umgehen sollen. Wenn einer heuchelt, geh ich weg. Ich habe Krebs, bekomme von daher eine Chemo und habe es nicht immer leicht im Leben gehabt. Aber ich habe mich nicht unterbekommen lassen. Fazit: Schlaft immer erst eine Nacht darüber. Denkt immer daran, es wird meistens nicht so heiß gegessen wie es gekocht wird!

Ein wirklich sehr sehr schöner Film. Finde es leider etwas schade, dass man nicht früher mitbekommen hat, dass so ein Film gedreht wird, vor allem wenn man Bereits in Menden wohnt. Hätte das Team gerne unterstützt...

Naja...so ganz versteh ich das auch nicht, ich habe aber mal irgendwo gehört, dass Mädchen besser damit klar kommen, da sie ja auch auf Männer stehen (also wenn sie hetero sind) und das somit besser nachvollziehen können, dass Schwule halt auch auf Männer stehen. Ein heterosexueller Mann kann es meist nicht so verstehen, dass ein Mann auf Männer steht, da er nunmal auf Frauen steht

Schöner Kurzfilm und ich finde es wichtig dass es mehr Lgbt filme geben sollte. Fand auch gut dass es hier ein fröhliches Ende gab und keine allzu depressive Schlussfolgerung.

Good ideas for the story, enjoyable to watch, but the actors were not able to be up to the challenge here and some moments came up without the necessary emotional preparation. Still, the meaning is great, suicide is not really the solution, seek for help if you're going through tough times, there has to be at least one kind soul that will be there for you :)

While the acting does not reflect the reality of the emotions involved, and the viewer must 'entre dans' to create the depression, lonliness, despair, abandonment, etc., to empathize with Timo's struggle...but in that struggle the clip does make the point: we all need to be loved and accepted for who we are, unconditionally. The akward secene when a student must come out in front of the class, is sadistic: I puzle why this scene is in the clip at all. That timo so easily comes out to the girlfriend, likewise does not capture the anguish, fear 0f rejection and estrangement. There is a matter-of-factness about the clip, again, that puzzles me: there is no antecedent behavior that makes his desire to end his life seem reasonable. The one scene when his friends rush to comfort him and tell him they still love him, is closer to what is needed. But I still need to understand, what conflict in the mind of the guy who made the film, is the fulcrum, le raison d'être of the film.

Der Blonde Kerl is schon n Sahneschnittchen xD Echt klasse Film. Auch wenn man immer wieder gerade Szenisch Stellen ausbauen kann, mag ich auch mal solche Non-Pefect Filme. Es zeigt, dass niemand perfekt und dass man sich immer verbessern kann ;)

Jungs brauchen keine angst davor zu haben sich zu outen 1. Kenne ich kein mädchen dass schwule nicht total süß findet 2. Eltern sollten einen sowieso immer unterstützen 3. Die freunde sollten auch nichts dagegen haben schließlich ist er niemand anderes außerdem jedes mädchen will einen schwulen besten freund und ich würde mich so freuen wenn mein sohn schwul wäre...heutzutage werden homosexuelle viel mehr untersützt und sollten keine angst davor haben. Jeder mensch ist anders aber jeder sollte dazu stehen und wenn ein anderer damit nicht klar kommt sind sie es nicht wert. Ich sag nur "those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

carin a findest du nicht das ist ein bisschen blind? Neben Mobbing gibt es soviel was passieren kann. Natürlich, heutzutage werden Leute mit anderen Sexualitäten mehr akzeptiert aber das heißt nicht, dass es leicht ist. Das mit den 'jedes Mädchen wünscht sich einen schwulen besten Freund' ist auch dämlich. In welcher Hinsicht sind schwule Freunde denn anders als andere? Wenn man sich outet muss man einfach damit rechnen Kontakte zu verlieren und runter gemacht zu werden. Die geschriebenen Worte von dir sind schön, aber treffen in den meisten Situation nicht zu ;)

So I'm halfway through this film and while the cinematography is beautiful in spots, the writing is misdirected and doesn't seem to be very efficient. Biding time is not a movie.

Awww I loved the end... 😭😭😭🥰🥰🥰 It was not expected for me. I loved the music as well. There is a mistake in the Spanish subtitules. They use the verbe “estar” and it is the verbe “ser”.
