You’ve discovered the holy grail of fabrication. That’s what I’d call service. Unfortunately, there’s no such service in my country, but if there was, I would certainly use it. Great video as always, thanks for sharing.

not much stops someone from setting such a thing up. small independent backyard shops doing jobs for an umbrella group that handles all the ancillaries. it's the kind of thing anyone with a garage and no car can set up. so, tom, got a garage?

@kathysarmcandy1992 I started watching Lars Christensen's channel. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d5uSlpyUmLmVYps.htmlsi=99wxxcrwi1_EZ76o Great content, it is a little different to draft this way (and sometimes it pays to be more conventional when drafting for 2d cutting). I hope this helps.

They are also pretty handy for household projects. I've got a couple closets that need some shelves and are anything but square. Send off a file, cut out of chipboard, see if it fits, make necessary adjustments (tolerances being what they are when starting with cardboard-aided crafting), then have version 2 cut out of baltic birch. Freaking awesome service.

I think the word you were looking for is "efficent". Sure you can probably do all those parts in your garage by yourself, BUT i'm almost certain that you would likely waste more money in material because the messure's werent 100%. Plus the frustration if you mess something up. I think the prices you said are more the reasonable and 1 week make&deliever time is awesome! Keep it up my friend, greets to you and everyone here from germany😎🇩🇪

Yes - efficient. It used to be that the CAD work would take me longer than the layout and cutting. Now there really is no comparison. I can't make all of these parts in these time frames...I've got a regular job. It's very efficient use of my time.

For years I've put off tackling projects that would require fab work or custom solutions because I don't own a welder and I also don't like paying exorbitant amounts of money for something as simple as custom motor mounts, basic support/locator brackets, switch panels, etc. Well... now SCS has forced my hand. They basically took care of the _other_ 95% of fab work besides the actual welding itself. Now I've really got no excuse! Definitely a game-changer for those of us hobbyists who are fab-shy.

This is very timely, I was just thinking of getting some pieces cut out with water jet or laser & wondering where to go. Thanks for the 15% discount! There are actually quite a few mail order outfits, I was hoping for somebody local in Canada. I had a sprocket done up by Laser Equations here in Calgary once several years ago, I don't think they do small jobs anymore.
@ThrottleStopGarage
@ThrottleStopGarage 7 ай бұрын
I've used many services over the years and they all seem to drop off after a while. As they get more regular work, they won't take your order or it takes weeks. Some companies still entertain small jobs and I do my best to support them. My last laser supplier started charging $250 just to look at the job - that was enough to say "no thanks".

Of course you offer a discount code the week after I get my first order from SCS! I'm curious about those bulkhead connectors - did you have to weld one plate with a round hole to the plate with the hex hole, or were you able to order the part as you show it in the video?

Does this service offer milling and metal lathe type services? Sounds like a great service honestly. I’m not really into the cad or fusion 360 type stuff and I’ve always tried to avoid it. But anymore I’m almost being forced into a corner with it. I really need to get involved and roll up the sleeves as they say and dig in. I’m just a hobbyist of all things and an Ace of none. But I do love building things with my hands and fabricating things with metal. Them parts look great. I’m intrigued.
@ThrottleStopGarage

The don't offer turning or milling at this time. I understand the CAD issue completely. I never wanted to learn and would just do it manually. I'd try a free version and it would take longer to draw than to just make the part. Fusion is really good for being able to break that barrier. SendCutSend also have a basic shape library and you can dimension things in on the website. I've now changed my tune and it's easier to draw up a part and send it off than it is to lay it out.
