Awesome scene where Ser Barristan quits from service after being insulted with forced retirement. "A hall to die in....and men to bury me!"

Yeah because writing a book and writing a TV show is the same thing, right? It's not like a TV show has screen time and budget constraints. @BruceWayne-fj9bm Жыл бұрын
Sir Selmy reaching for his sword silencing the laughter proved Cercei right about one thing. “Power is power.” Little finger may have had a nice witty comeback but Barristan would have cut down nearly everyone in the room and butchered Little Finger for his insult before being overwhelmed by numbers.

Thats because Cerci wants to take control . And with brains , Sir Barristan as a lord commander can control the safety of king Jeofrey . And Cerci dont want a person she knows will defy her ways of commanding.

The man who was able to scare The Hound with a simple threat was taken out by a few thugs in an alley...great writing, D&D.

Haven't you seen his agility in his old age?....He approx. killed 12 sons and the 13th backstabbed him......which made him slow but still he killed 14 sons while he was on his knees.

@The Beast He was undefeatable in his prime.......Also he survived the battle of trident killing every valiant northern Knight...for which Ned told him I am glad we never met on the field...... Also look onto the fact that Ser Barristan was Robert's enemy on the trident....But Robert pardoned him and made him Lord commander of the kingsguard.....That shows how Honourable Selmy was....

@The Beast Let me tell you one thing The Mountain is a bad swordsman.....he is underrated only because of his ferocious strength.....and nothing else.....Selmy can gut him easily...... And why in seven hells should we compare a man who served 40 years being a kingsguard with a man who is not a good swordsman....

I love how Barristan just throws his sword on the ground and storms off. The second the room went silent from him drawing his sword he'd made his point. I'm sure he briefly considered fighting but he would not dishonor himself that way

@@ctgst9771 Sure, this scene in particular isn't that deep. But it helps knowing who these people are, who Barristan Selmy is, and why his forced retirement is such a big deal. Other than that, the articulate dialogue is sooo good. I guess I just miss it since the last 2 seasons have been absolute horse shit.
