Hey man all this info really helps! I hope you keep making these type of videos! I have never taken an engine apart or even out of an engine bay but I’m about to remove my itr swap out of my dc2 once I get someone to buy it and swap in a k24a2 myself,ima need all the info I can get,might also replace a few things before I put in the k24 like tensioners,ad whatever else needs to be replaced while the motor is out..also I subscribed to your channel as it was very informative

When you put the engine back together, please show the whole process including torque specs. Do not skip any steps. I am in the process of buying an RSX and wanted to know if the what is needed to put a k24 bottom end. I assume arp bolts, k24 head gasket, oil pump. Not sure on the timing chain if you use the same k20a2 or use k24, not sure on the engine mounts either. Can you describe what is needed? I love your car and the channel. Thanks man

Dude I had my k24 do the same thing, made same noise yours made and everything. Luckily all my bolts came out of mine and I just replaced with new flywheel bolts, flywheel, clutch etc but I made sure to loctite those bolts and so far no issues! Good luck bro

Ypur videos are very helpful and appreciated. I am abput to do a head job on my daughters 2007 CRV. Either a bad gasket or head. Combustion gases in the coolant. Where is a good place to buy reliable parts? Dont need racing stuff just reliable.

Thanks for making this vid and for the rebuild also. I was hoping I could replace my rod bearings from underneath with the engine insitu. Do you know if this is possible or would the oil pump be in the way for this?

@@alexnunez8909 I wonder if it's a harmonic issue with the flywheel perhaps not balancing right with the combination of pressure plate causing a destructive vibration resulting in the flywheel bolts breaking loose ..
@rico8920026 жыл бұрын
Look like the bolts just backed out and just destroyed the crank and clutch. What were you reving the car to? I would also consider a ati crank damper. Good luck bro

At about 4:14 you are taking off a short change that goes to something inside the oil pan. Is that for the oil pump?

What book are you using for torque specs when building your k20/24. Service manual?
@dkis87303 жыл бұрын
What is that flexible clamp thing called that you're using to hold the dial bore gauge? I can't figure out how to Jerry rig something for the life of me, and I can't seem to Google anything remotely close enough to figure out what that thing is Edit: Turns out the the flexible thing is part of a whole kit you have to get. I ended up using my dial bore gauge in between one of the flywheel bolt holes and the engine stand. Not sure how accurate it is, but it honestly feels fairly accurate to me. My crankshaft endplay is currently reading slightly too tight tho... Damn

I'm going to be building my k24 here soon (just waiting on a couple parts to show up) if I'm replacing the thrust washers to start with, is the crank end play test necessary?
@dkis87303 жыл бұрын
Late but for anyone else reading, you always want to check all the important clearances in an engine build, even with new parts.
@methodical_665 жыл бұрын
I like that you are going detailed...but if you are already rebuilding...why not go sleeved?
@nicholaskennedy81735 жыл бұрын
You zero'd out in a neutral position. Your overall endplay should've been measured from PUSHING AND pulling on the crank. Your end play looked far more significant than just 5 thousandths. Watch the gauge go negative when you release pressure. That counts towards your end play.
@cbdreamer17095 жыл бұрын
Are you sure about that? He seems to know a lot. But if so is that what caused his issues
