This might be one of the highest-quality endings to any show I've ever seen. The way they weave these episodes through the events of Revenge of the Sith is genius, and these episodes have this feeling of coldness and heaviness hanging over them - which, incidentally, is how the presence of the dark side is described as feeling - so these episodes literally let you feel the dark side during a point at which it has never been stronger. In particular I don't think that a final shot of any show has left me feeling colder than that last scene of Vader's silhouette reflected in the abandoned helmet of a long dead clone lying in the snow. One not-so-fun fact from this one - The clone that Maul pins to the wall during his hallway rampage on the Venator ship is Ridge (you can hear his fellow Clones cry out "Ridge is down!"), and Ridge was actually one of the Clones shown in the Clone Wars movie/theatrical release, I believe during the scene where they climb the cliffs to take over the monastery. So Ridge has been there since the beginning and Maul snuffs him out like that. Reliving this show through your reactions has been such a ride, and I can't wait to see where you go next with Star Wars.

yeah, the moment anakin and ahsoka have their last interaction a very ominous feeling is set and that slowly just increases throughout the arc, becoming more and more tense, till the climax with order 66. Then it's just a looming darkness for the remainder. The way they organized the pace of these last few episodes was perfect, they really imo has some of the hardest hitting scenes in star wars, up there w end of rots, luke and vader, etc

The Phantom Apprentice is peak Star Wars. This series is always at its furthest height when set in a throne room. Maul and Ahsoka are perfect foils for each other. It's incredible that this series took a character with few characteristics other than a cool design, and turn him into genuinely one of the most (if not the most) compelling villains/antiheroes of the entire franchise.

"Find him. Fives. Find-" For me Rex's tiny (yet incredible) act of resistance in that moment is the most powerful symbol of what Rebellion means in Star Wars. It's the knowledge that you can't fight it, you can't beat it, but you try anyway and that's what matters. It's an oppression so powerful, so huge, so systemic that it's literally built into Rex's mind and flesh, and to think that one person could fight against that is ludicrous. But if ONE person can fight ONE small battle for just a few fateful seconds, then - even if they lose in the end - they can maybe at least preserve a shred of hope for someone else. And that's badass.

The Clone Wars is full of triumph and victory, but also sadness and the way it ends is just so somber and quiet. It really sets in the idea nothing will ever be the same anymore in the universe, something happened that changed everything forever and there is no way to go back anymore. Its so powerful and i love if

In case you didn't know already: Disney took over Star Wars in 2013 (I think) and cancelled this show after its 5th season. The show's creators were able to release the remaining episodes, which they had already finished, on Netflix, so these episodes became CW season 6. That's also the reason why season 6 only has 13 episodes and not 20 or more, because they were cancelled mid-production. Dave and his team finished 12 out of the (about) 52 unfinished Clone Wars episodes in season 7, but there still exist (around) 40 unfinished episodes aka 10 unfinished CW arcs to this day. The scripts of the 40 still unfinished episodes were already finished, as far as I know. You can look up these stories which we still could have gotten before the finale of season 7. I really hope that they will finish more of or all of the 10 arcs/ 40 unfinished CW episodes and release them on screen, one day. We would have seen on screen what happened with Maul and Sidious, Mother Talzin and with (56:52) Ventress + Quinlan Vos after the season 5 finale, for example, not "just" in comic ("Son of Dathomir" for Maul, as you have already seen) or book ("Dark Disciple" for Ventress) form. We would have also seen more of the affects that Ahsoka leaving had on Anakin and even a very short encounter/ fight between Sidious and Ahsoka. We also would have seen the beginning of the creation of the 1st Death Star on the planet Utapau and an arc about a very interesting and powerful alien race called YUUZHAN VONG from the unknown regions, and they were really important and a huge threat to Luke and his people in the Legends Star Wars extended universe later on. There was also supposed to be an episode that showcased why the Jedi were clouded by the dark side. Apparently the Jedi temple was built on top of a Sith temple, and Palpatine would go down there to practice Sith sorcery. There was also supposed to be an arc about Cad Bane vs. kid Boba Fett and his crew. 56:20 There was also supposed to be another arc with the under water people which would have happened before this finale, like all of the other missing arcs as well. Screen rant has a list with the plots of 9 of the 10 still missing arcs, except for the one arc where Plo Koon takes a young Ahsoka from her village to the jedi temple to train to become a jedi knight.

I geek out every time I think of the name of Part II. "The Phantom Apprentice." It's so clever. See, Episode I is titled "The Phantom Menace." That name is never clearly explained. It could be referring to Palpatine/Sidious, but it also could be referring to Anakin/Vader. So "The Phantom Apprentice" could be referring to one of Sidious' apprentices, Maul or Vader, OR it could be referring to Anakin's apprentice, Ahsoka. They leave it ambiguous on purpose. Personally, I choose to interpret "The Phantom Apprentice to mean Anakin/Vader because he's not actually in the episode, yet "He is the key to everything." so he's a phantom character.

I couldn't find a comment like this before I posted, so Removing the Inhibitor chips doesn't kill the clones. Tup's had already malfunctioned in battle, Fives' was successfully removed and the Kaminoans drugged him for his meeting with the chancellor. So when the chancellor told Fives his plan, Fives attacked him because he wasn't able to think straight due to the drugs. He came across as a raving lunatic and was shot by Commander Fox.

That "slowness" you spoke of was dread. Growing dread. Although we had come to appreciate the clones as valiant individuals, we knew from Revenge of the Sith that this could only end in tragedy. But these have been some of the best Star Wars stories. Now you should watch very quickly "Tales of the Jedi." They are a total of only 90 minutes, but it's great background information on Dooku and Ahsoka, and will blend chillingly with this finale of The Clone Wars.

I have actually gone through the effort of watching Revenge of the Sith and The Siege of Mandalore at the same time, switching between the movie and show. (I watched Part 1, then I watched RotS through Obi-Wan leaving Coruscant, Part II, RotS through Order 66, Part III, the ending of RotS, and finally Part IV.) IT IS AMAZING! It really adds to the galactic scale of the war to know that while all that stuff was happening to Anakin and Obi-Wan on Coruscant, Ahsoka and Rex were fighting a huge battle on the other side of the galaxy. And it also tells us that Obi-Wan was a VERY busy man. He was fighting alongside Anakin in the Battle of Coruscant, then he deals with the Jedi Council, the briefing on the Outer Rim Sieges, Anakin's spy assignment, and then gets his own assignment to Utapau, all while still keeping tabs on Ahsoka and Mandalore. No wonder the man was freaking exhausted.

_Old Friends, Not Forgotten_ Oh s**t, Plo and Aayla were shown to be where they were in Revenge of the Sith. When a certain order was issued. 😰 Ahsoka got off a ship just like when she first appeared! 😭 Saxon and Rook Kast (that female Mauldalorian) were in Son of Dathomir. I guess Saxon didn’t take off his helmet in that. The latter makes me wonder if they’ll bring back Jodo Kast. A bounty hunter in Legends who wore Mando armor similar to Boba’s and impersonated him. Boba didn’t take that well. Almec of all people has no business wearing armor that cool looking _The Phantom Apprentice_ Ahsoka and Maul’s duel was done with motion capture. Maul was played by his original stunt performer from Phantom Menace, Ray Park. And Ahsoka was Lauren Mary Kim, a stuntwoman from The Mandalorian It is _chilling_ hearing Maul be so afraid and frantic when he’s captured. “You’re all going to burn! _We’re all going to die!_ *You don’t know what you’re doing!!!”* _Shattered_ When this was first airing, I stayed up till 3am to watch this episode. Worth it. “I’ll tell him myself when I see him” AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! 🤬😭 R7-A7! We haven’t seen him in forever. He’s Ahsoka’s astromech. He was only in 4 episodes. two in S1, and two in S5. Tup died after having his chip removed, and we don’t 100% know if that was the direct cause of death. It might’ve been due to the decay. Fives was killed before we could see if removal meant death without decay. 41:06 You don’t know what that saying is from. Yet. 😏 _Victory and Death_ Ofc Palpy made sure Ahsoka was specifically targeted by Order 66 😤 Man, that final image. 😢😔

Maul’s monologue to Ashoka before their fight actually has a lot of philosophical roots in Hegel’s dialectics and Marxism. “Justice is merely a construct of the current power base”. It’s incredibly compelling as a political science major to hear Maul’s monologue referencing the base and superstructure and its sociopolitical implications for the Star Wars universe. “Every choice you have made has lead you to this moment” This is a perfect summation of Hegelian dialectics

I still remember watching these last few episodes when they dropped on Disney+. Several moments I had tears in my eyes. This is a story I’ve been wanting to see for so long get finished, & the way it wraps of the prequel stories was beautiful. This cliché gets tossed around: every frame a painting. I felt that way watching these 4 episodes. Dare I say some of my favorite storytelling in all of Star Wars. In particular the final shot. The symbolic imagery made my mouth drop. It’s beautiful but heartbreaking. Once you get to Rebels and the Ahsoka series, this series is going to feel even more impactful. Thank you Imon for reacting to this series and creating such inspiring & impactful discussions afterwards. I’m not trying to blow smoke, but since I was a kid very little people lived Star Wars like I did. Your analysis is spot on, the heavy and eerie feeling throughout this arc of episodes is pulled off incredibly. An empty nothingness somehow making you scared to see what’s coming but eager to watch. You know how it ends and yet you don’t. You were hoping for Ahsoka and Rex to survive, but when you see they do you feel nothing, because they lost everything to get there. And the closing scene is one of the most cinematic scenes I’ve ever seen. The broken CT helmet, Ashoka’s markings painted on, reflecting an even more broken Vader as he literally turns his back on everything his past life contained. Anakin would’ve died for any one of his 501st clones. Bittersweet irony that one of the last pieces of Anakin died as Vader turned his back on them.

Which is why I truly believe that this show is the best thing Star Wars has ever created, nothing can compare. Every arc with Maul is typically dark or sad as well but none of those arcs have ever effect me as much as the Ashoka framed arc & the Seige of mangalore/order 66 arc, some of the best Star Wars … actually scratch that, some of the best tv out there.

The attack on mandaloar demonstrates the fall of the repupablic. It showed how rotten and failed they were, how they got inpatient and wanted to end the war at all cost even at the cost of democracy.

remember, the year this came out 2020 a few years after rebels finished so there's continuity characters from rebels added .. rebels finished in 2018 to give you some type of info on it... Gar Saxon is played by the late Ray Stevenson aka one of the main cast members in the Ahsoka series. Rest in peace... but yet there's a few other Easter eggs, we will tell you about when you get into another series. And the time is right.

So glad you enjoyed this one! Been here since day 1 of clone wars reactions, and it’s been a blast. Grew up with this show and always enjoy reactions to it, because in a way it enables me to watch the series for the first time again through someone else. I really liked your reactions specifically because you always have interesting personal perspectives to add. Excited to see what the next Star Wars reaction will be. People here are mostly saying tales of the Jedi. Which I think is valid, cuz it’ll be more enjoyable after freshly having watched CW S7. Then perhaps bad batch after that and rebels last, if you want to do things chronologically :)

What an incredible ending. Clone wars really ties all the films together with depth and character development they really missed out on in the movies. The season was sublime, animation incredible, music beautiful, the audience knows whats coming but they build the suspense and mood perfectly. Personally i think clone wars becomes some of the best star wars writing in the entire saga.

I love how you had to pause after Mauls offer. He is 100% right but also wrong. He still has the delusion that he could ever beat his former master. But I do like how Maul and Ahsoka are sort of parallel characters at that moment. Masterful way to handle these two characters.

The ending scene where you see Vader takes place over a decade later we don't know the exact date.. but the ship vader uses wasn't made until like 12 to 14 years later ..

Movies, television, books and video games are great teaching mechanisms, if while you are moved by the characters situations (victories/defeats/losses/gains/celebration/mistakes/lessons), you learn what 2 do or knot 2 do in your own life's journey ❤ #Greatreactions #StarWars

Your channel is new to me with this video. Loved your summing up at the end - it’s the best I’ve heard. I’ll have to watch all your other Clone Wars reactions now! 😊 I’m guessing others have strongly encouraged you to watch Rebels and Tales of the Jedi? I hope you will, and if you do you are guaranteed to have at least one person who will watch your reactions 🙂

50:31, 54:51 I recommend watching the star wars show "tales of the jedi" next. It also goes a bit more into that topic. 32:03 I also really recommend watching the 6 short Old Republic star wars cinematics called "Return", "Hope", "Deceived", "Sacrifice", ""Betrayed" and "Disorder". All of them are absolutely amazing imo and it gives you a sneak peek into my favorite star wars era. 6:29 There is a really good fan animated video on YT called "Battle of the Heros" about the fight between Vader and Kenobi. In it we even see a small but important scene form the unfinished Utapau clone wars arc where Anakin talks to Obi about his feelings regarding Ahsoka leaving the jedi + it features some deleted scenes form the Episode III movie. I highly recommend you watch that animated video too.

Wonderful ending. It was very much a good idea to watch Revenge of the Sith, it is indeed like a big movie! Now I implore you to watch Tales of the Jedi quickly and Rebels, and Bad Batch.

So glad you enjoyed this journey Imon, The Clone Wars is hands down one of the greatest things to ever happen to Star Wars and it has elevated the prequels in so many ways. Not sure if you plan on watching Rebels, but I def recommend you continuing the story there! May the Force be with you, Always.

54:04 In fact, that's Anakin, Darth Vader had nothing to do on that planet, much less the search for that ship. But Anakin does, perhaps the last bit of hope of finding his former Padawan and not being completely consumed by the dark side.

33:02 This isn't the same ship that Vader, Tarkin and the Emperor were on at the end of ROTS lol. Keep in mind that Anakin and the others are allllll the way on Coruscant, halfway across the galaxy from Ahsoka and Maul by the time of Order 66. Order 66 happened during Ahsoka's hyperspace voyage to Coruscant to bring Maul to trial, "justice" and of course, she wasn't going to make it back to the Capital of the Republic with him. And of course, they all do *in fact* look the same, because it is the same model of Republic warships, however. It's called a Venator-class Star Destroyer or Venator-class Cruiser and you've seen it (and heard it -- "Jedi Cruiser" "Attack Cruiser" etc, etc.) time and time and time again all throughout the Clone War. It is the main battleship of the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic). When the Empire arose, they didn't immediately phase out this design until around 2-4 years later and THEEEN we begin to see the iconic and infamous Imperial Star Destroyer in Rogue One and the OT--or the ISD as it's also known as, in short-form.
