Serj is a true artist. He puts across a message that most don't dare to touch at this level, and conveys it in a way thats understandable and personal for everyone. I have the most respect for Serj and what he stands for. Not to mention he's an amazing musician.

This song gets me every single time I listen to it. Serj is a true poet, and amazing vocalist. As for the message, I feel like people look down on the homeless, and completely turn a blind eye to their own imperfections and shitty habits. The children at the end don't see the man as a person to be judged, instead they were empathetic and wanted to help.

Damn its almost been 2 decades... When I first saw this as a kid and inspired me to help the homeless, I didn't think I'd go homeless myself 10 years later from family abandonment. Life is kinda horrifically cruel that way i guess.

I have no homeless people near me, and it makes me happy for alot that they have a roof over their heads... but too many people i know edge closer and closer... I wish I had money to give them, and i wish they didnt have to deal with this. But whenever they say they are homeless, I tell them they are wrong. So long as your heart is beating and you can love and see the good in yourself and others, you are not homeless, you are houseless... Your soul is within you and the caring feeling you get is truly your home.

I have seen many movies that people claim to be sad and I never had an emotional connection, but this video has a very strong message I felt that emotional connection. I give Serj Tankian and Kevin Estrada great thanks in producing this video. Very great acting by the homeless man as well. You can tell even though he doesn't speak yet through his eyes you can see his pain.

This was just so well written and the story presented is sad, yet true. We judge others. But, we're just as worse.

I think the signs represent the excuses people made to themselves for not giving money to the homeless guy. The two really positive signs where the last two that the girls who shared the money had: hope, faith. The rest of the signs weren't necessarily good or bad, but they were facts of our society and things people beleive in and others the impact we have by doing daily rutines or activities.

This was uploaded on my birthday. Words cannot describe how much this song hits home to my heart and soul. Serj is one of a kind. God bless him.

I watched it a couple times and I think I've figured out what the signs mean... It's about what all their money goes to help fight, or where they have spent lots of money previously and the homeless/less fortunate who are kicked and ignored have it put in perspective how hypocritical people can be with their money. Clarifying on some of the signs: Ones like terrorism, war and nuclear/animal testing are pretty obvious Ones like meat eating is probably from the point of view of a vegetarian The stall keeper was against big business as they monopolize the market. The rehab sign may be about not giving criminals a second chance And while many people are approving of stem cell research some religious groups are steadfastly against it. Bottled water is possibly about big companies that buy cheap land and export all the water (think Aquafinina and Daisani in California).
