Here we compare RSA Archer and ServiceNow GRC capabilities. Archer technologies developed their GRC solution which got acquired by EMC back in 2010. And ServiceNow though founded in 2003, acquired Intreis GRC solutions around 2019. ServiceNow is relatively new to the GRC space however they have brought the workflow efficiency that their entire platform utilizes for modules like IT, Employee and Customer workflows, etc.
ServiceNow sets the standard of what a system of Action should be. With integrations to almost all tools and applications in the enterprise marketplace, ServiceNow is a strong contender in the IRM and GRC space. Beyond integrations and robust features, you can leverage the relational tables, single system of action, and automated workflows that are so core to the platform. ServiceNow enables customers to align teams across the organization, allowing them to rally around a common process and work together as a team to tackle integrated risk management.
Core to so much of the platform is a one-to-many concept that is often not found in other tools. Assets can be related to multiple systems, and entities match across the enterprise, the guiding belief that one-to-one is limiting is why ServiceNow turned that idea on its head when it designed the platform. As I had mentioned before, Archer also doesn’t have the concept of entities, whereas entities and entity types are critical in ServiceNow to ensure relationships are correctly identified and captured.
