Hi Rick, I was told wedges off the back foot with a more opened stance. Thoughts? Obviously swing power is probably compromised due to loss of rotation range but I found myself hitting seemingly better on an indoor simulator.

What you are saying about feeling completely awkward about the posture is so true. I am a scratch golfer and thought I had a good setup until I went to a clinic at Disney. It was part of my monthly membership and I figured it couldn't hurt. The clinic was on posture and I felt the so awkward when the pro put me into the proper posture. Felt like my butt was in the next county. I really started hitting the ball better in the new posture position. Great video!

Thanks Rick. I went for some lessons and my coach had me standing much taller, far nearer the ball, leaning to the left, hands forward and it ruined my swing. I'm a beginner and I was going to give up the game but your video has simplified things for me and I'm looking forward to getting back to basics.

Rick I just started watching this series last Friday. I'm 63 years old and am a 16 handicap and was hitting my irons horrible and getting no yardage at all or height. I started practicing since Saturday just turning the hips and shoulders together and really concentrating on my grip which I was always told that it was a weak grip. I was flying my 7 Iron 130 which is horrible considering my athleticism ( played Ice Hockey) 25 years and I'm 5ft 10 235 lbs. I knew that their was something fundamentally wrong. You said just by doing this shoulder and hip turn simultaneously most people will see a dramatic improvement, WELL I DID!!! I went to the range today after at least 12 hours of watching and practicing this technique in my garage no ball just concentrating on grip, set up, setting wrists and turning through and I was flying my 7 iron now 150 yards (WOW 20 YARD INCREASE!!!) and now all of a sudden I hit HIGH DRAWS!!!! WHERE DID THAT COME FROM? the grip? just coming inside because of the turn? I don't care BUT THANK YOU!!!! I enjoy your teaching and your review videos of irons and because of you I am going to buy the Mizuno JPX921 Forged Irons thank you. Keep up the great work.

Brilliant. I occasionally need to play for networking events. This is the first time I've seen this guidance on stance and "hanging arms". After 45 years of rare attempts at playing this one tip has made such a difference. I was leaning too far forward with arms too tense. I watched the series and then put into a practice at the driving range today. Some things I knew already, and it was good to get confirmation of them; the missing link of fixing my stance has made a big difference.

Well done Again Rick; Great setup vid for your irons.I must say that You have a natural easy way expressing golf fundamentals and what to basically do prior to hitting your irons in this video. I will practice this fundamental as well as your driver setup vids to improve this year.I'm getting back into playing golf again after a long long lay off, played last year but didn't apply your setups and was bad and good all over the place, driver duck hooks army golf left right etc.but now understand the more importance of the right setup with which most high handi guys I've seen don't do.When setting up I will try to let my arms hang more naturally and relaxed instead off the more upright plus.Thx Again -Dex

I'm just finished watching your series and love it. I know you have the ball and head of the club aiming at the target, but at address where should my feet be aiming in relations to the target; i.e. To the right or at it? I know at finish on your follow through video, my hips should end at he target, but I noticed that I end my belt buckle at what seems to be left of the target. My ball does end up left of the target as well. Am I over rotating? Sorry if I sound confusing.

great videos may I ask you to do a video about your view of chippers (35 and 55 degree chippers) i know pro players and most players do not use them, but some medium handicap players do (I do). For me, my 55 loft chipper is the only possible way to be consistent when just beside the green or when i need to go over a bunker in front of the green, or any other obstacle. (i apologise for my english) thanks Rick, regards, Ivan Ramos-C.

I’m new to golf and still improving, but something that seems obvious to more advanced golfers that beginners might miss in the setup (I did), is that the head of the club needs to be dead flat to the ground. This will help you figure out the distance you need to be away from the ball. Thanks for the video!
